Drawn to Her by Jenna Harte

Feisty and outspoken, Lexie McKenna will do anything to protect her cantankerous and ailing patient-even if it means going up against his cold and calculating, but sexy and irresistible, grandson. After all, as a nurse, her number one priority is her patient.

Drake Carmichael doesn't trust the nurse who's taking care of his grandfather-despite how adorable and compassionate she seems. He refuses to let her get her grips into their hard-earned money.

But as the two square off and begin to battle about what is best for the dying man, Lexie and Drake realize they know very little about each other and that first impressions are deceiving. Once they finally give in to their desires, the battle has only just begin.

With a fight between family and fortune, love and lust, will either one be able to find the southern comfort they both truly crave?

For this one Lexie made the story for me. She is one delightful character. She's the catalyst for the changes to come for the Carmichael family. There is also a sad air through out this book and it has a powerful message behind it. Like many nowadays out priorities are not always ordered as they should be which could lead us to have many regrets down the road. The way Drake grew up and the path he is on is making him into the man he's truly not meant to be. When Lexie comes into his life she throws him for a loop because now he's realizing what more there could be to life. Lexie can see the true Drake that's hiding behind the gruff exterior, but can his true nature over power what has been ingrained into Drake? Lexie is so good for Drake, but can he come to terms with what she makes him feel? This book takes you a journey of a family broken yet can be mended. It's a beautiful story with sad undertones. I loved where this book took me and ended up.

I am not typically a romantic reader but Drawn to Her turned me into one. It is sexy adventurous and occasionally make your heart go all gooey! however that's not to say that there is not conflict and action. Honestly no matter what type of reader you are typically, I really believe you will enjoy this book. I have also read the Valentine mystery books by Jenna Harte and also recommend those. Jenna has a fantastic way of making a romantic out of even the most cold-hearted of people. My ice cold heart melted while reading this.

I was given an advanced copy in return for a honest review. A dying man filled with regrets, grandsons with skewed family and career beliefs, and a nurse who longs for more. Will the twins work through their issues? Can they find something greater? Will the group continue on or allow opportunity to pass them by? This was a very emotionally filled book. Their journey felt very touching and realistic. I felt for Drake, and his twin brother, having to live such a cold childhood. It was sad to see Oliver so ill, and finally, at the end, realizing all that he should have done differently. I loved housekeeper Claire, and nurse Lexie's Southern sass and their protective care of Oliver. Finally, I was so happy to see how Lexie slowly brought the best of Drake. He truly was drawn to her. Beautifully told story. - Sarah
