What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

Dream Catcher embeds priceless glimpses into unconventional ways God visits and communicates with humans through dreams—an excellent resource for spiritual reflection that clergy, laypeople, and Bible teachers will find invaluable and timely. After all, God still relates and speaks through dreams.”

—Aliou Cissé Niang, Union Theological Seminary

“Do dreams have a place in the life of faith? Joseph is one biblical character who believes they do. His brothers call him ‘the dreamer,’ and through his interpretation of dreams, Joseph rises to the top echelons of power. In Dream Catcher, gifted storyteller Randy Hyde offers insight and wisdom from the Joseph narrative and helps readers reflect on the role dreams play in their own lives of faith.”

—Steve Hancock, PCUSA Pastor

“With a preacher’s skill and a pastor’s heart, Randy Hyde teaches us valuable lessons about faith and life as he guides us through the biblical story of Joseph and his brothers.”

—Robert Williamson Jr., Hendrix College

“Hyde reminds us that Joseph is exhibit A that trouble and triumph come on the same plate to each of us and to each of our families. Read this book slowly, carefully, and critically. Ponder your dreams, yourself, your family, and your understanding of how the world comes together. I will be surprised if you do not remember some things long buried, question some things long believed, and affirm some things profoundly important.”

—Walter B. Shurden, Mercer University

“Hyde recounts the story of the biblical Joseph as the original dream catcher of Israel. . . . Drawing on years of pastoral experience, Hyde demonstrates the practical application of Joseph’s life story to our own lives today. This book is an excellent resource for personal or small-group study.”

—William Powell Tuck, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, retired

“These fourteen sermonic reflections take you on a guided tour of Joseph’s life and faith. You explore different personalities, family dynamics, life situations, world events, and the presence of God. . . . When you finish, you have learned more about Joseph’s story, your story, and the God of all of our stories, who works through good yet imperfect people to embody God’s character and purposes in and beyond their own place and time.”

—Ray Higgins, Executive Coordinator, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Arkansas, retired
