This book is told from the point of view of Shane, Jolene's brother, and Avery, someone we haven't met until now. Avery is new to Nashville. She wants to make it as a song writer as well as find some of her family who doesn't know she exists(and she wants to keep it that way). I felt like her character was easy to relate to and was fleshed out well. Shane is a bad boy. As we get to know him, we learn why he's such the bad boy. Just a jerk or is it a defense mechanism? I felt like I got to know both of these characters well. They were fleshed out nicely and easy to relate to. I think this story was a littler bit more entertaining than the first one, plus I enjoyed getting updated on the lives of Jolene and Chance, as they are now fun supporting characters to this book. Who's story will we get next? The ARC of Dream Maker by Erin McCarthy was kindly provided to me by the publisher through NetGalley for review. The opinions are my own.

What does a small town Kentucky girl with a twang, different colored eyes, and a boat load of natural talent have to do in order to break into the song writing business in Nashville? Well, it can’t hurt that she had a chance meeting from a knight in shining armor one night after kicking her cheating boyfriend of eight years to the curb. Shane came to Avery’s rescue of he witnessed this beautiful and feisty spitfire tell a no good boyfriend off but then realized she had left her purse and phone in his truck so she had no idea what she was going to do next. Shane had no idea that Avery was a virgin. I mean, what the hell, she had been with her boyfriend for eight years he had found out! Just like Avery had no idea that Shane was Nashville’s top music producer and brother to the famous country star, Jolene…oh yeah, he was also the love them and leave them king as well. These two were a match from the start. Neither of them knowing anything about the other but yet feeling a connection that neither of them wanted to admit to at first. It’s a sweet and dirty connection that brings this small town girl and music producer through moments of self-discovery for both of them. Shane is having yet to deal with an abusive father who has left marks on not only on his mother and sisters but himself as well. And Avery was raised without a father because he just happens to be an all-time country music star that left her mother behind without a thought. Oh yeah, this makes Shane’s brother-in-law Avery’s half-brother as well. Lots of plot twists and a growing love that sometimes you just can’t ignore. I am waiting for book #3 in this series because I’m loving it. ARC provided freely via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Shane never went out just with the intention of hooking up with a women and sleeping with her it just happens. Shane’s gift seemed to be to get women naked and in his bed. Shane.s mother had moved then to Nashville to give his sister Jolene a chance to have a musical career. She was now a big star now. Shane was a producer starting to gain ground and respect now. Shane’s mother had left his father after having several daily beatings from her husband - Shane’s father. Shane also got beaten when he stepped in between his mother and father. Shane hated his father using his strength and size against his wife. John loved his mother and sisters more than anything else in the world. Tonight Shane was at a bachelor’s party Chance was one of country’s hottest stars. But he had been sober for a year now. Chance was marrying Shane’s sister. It was two in the a.m , Shane had studio time planned for the next two days. Shane left and heard an angry young woman and then Shane sees her as she got out of a truck cursing at the driver and then as the truck leaves she starts yelling running in the street for Ben to stop and let her get her purse and phone. Shane was worried that the young woman would get hit as it was dark and there were people out and driving that had been drinking. Soo Shane called to the young woman whose name was Avery to get out of the road. Shane offered to give Avery cab fair to get home but she refused as she had been staying with Ben at his family’s. So Avery and Shane sat in a coffee shop as Avery hoped Ben would come back to give her the purse and phone. But Avery found herself very attracted to Shane and he to her and they ended up spending the night together and having sex. Then Avery left as Shane slept but she did leave a note she didn't want Shane or anyone to think she was with Shane for his connections. Avery had not been in Nashville long but Avery had been with Ben for eight years since she was sixteen. But Avery was still a virgin- until Shane- as Ben had said they should wait until marriage although Avery found out that been had been cheating on her. Avery had nowhere to go as her purse and phone where in Ben’s truck. Avery came to Nashville to try to get a songwriting career going.Avery also wants to meet her half brother. Three months later Avery has landed her dream job and is a junior songwriter for a publisher called Rusty Truck. Avery runs into Shane at work and he invites her out to dinner. I liked this story a lot. It was like a fate thing as he was at the right spot when Avery needed to be rescued.. . Avery wa a good person like she didn’t want anyone to think that she was using Shane for his connections I just liked that. This was an all around good story. The plot was good and the writing. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend

Avery and Shane just sizzle together! He's a ladies man and she's a small town girl hanging on to her virginity, but only because her so called boyfriend won't do anything about it. Now she's caught him fooling around on her and stranded in Nashville outside a coffee shop. Shane comes to her aid and well so much more. It's a great book and I thoroughly enjoyed. Read it twice already!

DREAM MAKER by Erin McCarthy was one of those books that gave me the feels, from the story to the characters in the book, I fell in love from page one, both are very well written. Avery, who has left home (with her boyfriend) to fulfill her dreams of becoming a song writer in Nashville, but then finds out once there that he has been cheating on her the whole time, which would explain why he wouldn't have sex with her, in swoops Shane Hart (brother to Jolene Hart Nashville's latest singing sensation) who is a big time music producer and all around manwhore to the ladies, to the rescue.  This leads to one nigh of pure bliss and satisfaction for Avery, but when she learns Shane's last name it sends her running.  Besides coming to Nashville to become a song writer, Avery was there looking for her half brother, who just happens to be marrying Shane's sister.  oh the lives of the rich and famous in Nashville, will Shane and Avery reconnect again, or will Shane have become the one stand??? DREAM MAKER by Erin McCarthy is the second book the series, book one does not have to have been read before this book, however it is recommended as the characters and some of the story from book one crosses over to book two.

I really enjoyed Dream Maker by Erin McCarthy! It is the second book in her Nashville Nights series. Shane Hart was known for hooking up with women, but never settling down. He wasn't looking for a relationship. He just wanted to have some fun without any strings attached. He enjoyed his life in Nashville working as a music producer and didn't see a need to change it. Finding Avery O'Leery in the middle of the night running down the road chasing a truck was something new for him. He couldn't just leave her stranded so he stopped to check on her and offer his help. Avery had no idea what she was supposed to do when her boyfriend drove away with her purse and overnight bag. She had no way to contact anyone or money to get where she was going so when a perfect stranger stops to help her she is overwhelmed and relieved at the same time. What neither one of them expects is their instant attraction to one another. Avery doesn't want to complicate matters any more than they are so she disappears after their night together, but when Shane finds her again three months later, all bets are off. He wants to spend time with her and he won't take no for an answer. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books in this series. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

3.5 Stars Dream Maker features Shane and Avery as a couple who is brought together in the truest country music form. They have an instant attraction and share a surprisingly sweet event at the beginning of their relationship. Eventually secrets are revealed that complicate matters, will Shave and Avery's relationship survive? I liked not loved this book for several reasons: The characters are well written, but didn't interact enough. Some of the plot twists felt more appropriate to a soap opera (not bad, just not realistic). Overall I enjoyed the book, but found book one Heart Breaker to be a little more my speed. I was given a free copy for an honest review

I really loved this one!! To think I almost didn't want to read this one makes me shutter. I really didn't care for the first book in this series but this one sucked me right in and made me fall in love with these characters. Shane and Avery are so great together and their story was sweet, sexy, and fun. All the things I enjoy in a good romance. Avery O’Leery is finally getting her chance to have her music heard. She's always had a dream of being a song writer and now is her time. She first meets Shane when he helps her out of a tough situation with her now ex boyfriend. That meeting leads to a night of passion and has Shane rethinking his "love em and leave em" lifestyle. Problem is Avery is gone when he wakes up. He doesn't have her number or even know her full name. He just knows he needs to find her again. And he does. In the most unexpected place! Shane is a music producer and is scouting new songs for his label. When he arrives for a meeting at a songwriting company he hears the sweetest song and knows it will be perfect for his sister to record. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that Avery is the songwriter! Now she has to choose. Go after a relationship with Shane or stay true to her dreams because getting any more involved with him could cost her the job she was so exciting about just days ago! This is an awesome story and one I highly recommend.

*ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher* Shane Hart has always been the "one and done" type of guy. He's not into relationships, especially after the hell he lived through growing up. He doesn't think he can love a woman due to his issues, so he enjoys sex, but that's as far as it goes. Or so he thinks... The night of his soon-to-be brother-in-law's bachelor party, Shane encounters a young woman who has just been stranded with no purse, phone or money after a fight with her now ex-boyfriend. Shane plays good Samaritan and stays with her while she waits to have her things returned to her by her ex. What Shane doesn't expect is the immediate connection he has to the woman and the obvious physical attraction. He can tell straight away that she's not the fling type, but will that keep him away from her? Avery O'Leery made her way to Nashville with her longtime high school boyfriend to follow her love of music and song writing, but she also was looking for the family of the father that abandoned both she and her mother. She never expects to not only break up with her boyfriend, but lose her virginity AND find a potential tie to her father's side of the family all in one night. As Avery tries to find her footing, she begins to fall more and more for Shane, who may not be able to give her what she wants. Is she going to be willing to risk her new job as well as a potential future broken heart? Erin McCarthy did a great job with the development of these characters and I loved the chemistry between Shane and Avery. This was a book that I was engaged in from the outset and I didn't really want to put down. While I enjoyed the first book in the series, this one definitely held my attention more and I felt more connected to it. I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series!
