Deep in the heart of Texas is a small town where secret wishes have a funny way of coming true . . .
With a nine-year-old daughter, an overdue light bill, and a job slinging burgers while zooming around on roller skates, Cassidy Roby is not living the glamorous life. But Cuervo, Texas, has its charms: quiet streets, loving family, and the down-home familiarity of knowing which of your neighbors are mean as snakes. With Cassidy’s reputation, she knows what will happen if she steps a foot out of line. But how can she help it now that Mason Hannigan’s back in town?
As Cuervo’s high school quarterback ten years ago, Mason was all rock-hard abs and yes-ma’am manners. Now that he’s living the glitz and glory of the NFL, he’s all that plus a couple million bucks. The desire blazing between them is too hot to hide. Cassidy has some experience getting her heart broken by the hometown hero—and having the whole world watch her try to pick up the pieces. Will adding fame, fortune, and paparazzi be a playbook for disaster—or lead to the biggest adventure of her life?

About the Author

Award‑winning author Stacey Keith doesn’t own a television, but reads compulsively—and would, in fact, go stark raving bonkers without books, most of which are crammed into every corner of the house. She lives with her jazz musician boyfriend in Civita Castellana, a medieval village in Italy that sits atop a cliff, and she spends her days writing in a nearby abandoned 13th century church. But the two things she is most proud of are her ability to cook pasta alla matriciana without burning down the kitchen and swearing volubly in Italian with all the appropriate hand gestures.

3.5stars This one is a second chance story between former high school kids. They are both grown up. Mason famous football player and Cassidy single mom struggling to survive. Once again the chemistry between them explodes but Cassidy cares because she doesn't want to be the main gossip in her little town. Mason is determined that this time he will not let Cassidy go like he did stupidly in the past. But will he succeed? I liked Masone he was down to earth and although very famous celebrity just a normal guy who loved his job. Cassidy, on the other hand, I don't know she was to caught up in the past. I was just very surprised when she grew up a backbone and kicked her daughter aunt and father out. I would assume her past would make her stronger and tougher but I didn't see her strength. She just had a great luck that Mason would not give up on her. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

3.5 Stars! A second chance at romance is what's in the cards for struggling waitress Cassidy Roby, and NFL quarterback Mason Hannigan. Both grew up in the small town of Cuervo, Texas, and dated quite heavily while in high school. Mason wanted a guarantee that he had sex the night of his senior prom, so he dumped the innocent Cassidy only a few days earlier. Although Cassidy was a freshman, she ended up going to the prom with one of Mason's rivals. Nine months later she became the proud mother of a baby girl. Cassidy's family was and has been extremely supportive. The boy who got her pregnant, his nosy sister, and the townsfolk, have treated her like dirt ever since. Mason's return to Cuervo rekindles the feelings they both felt for each other over a decade ago. Cassidy is not sure she and her daughter will fit into Mason's world, but she is willing to give it a try. I liked this story, however, the narrow mindedness of the townsfolk, especially in this day and age was difficult to fathom. Moreover, Cassidy's ability to trust Mason so quickly seemed far-fetched. Nevertheless, although Cassidy and Mason are an unlikely pair, they get along beautifully. Their sexy times are hot and the author creates their intimate moments with lots of caring, longing, and lust. Cassidy is a warm woman that takes the world on her shoulders. With Cassidy in his life, Mason realizes how lonely he has been and his outlook changes for the better. They are each other's soulmates. Overall, a solid read. I love a good second chance romance, especially if it includes a single parent. This was a sweet and steamy read. I really liked Mason, despite his success in the NFL, he is a very humble and regular guy and he really wants Cassidy. Cassidy is afraid to take the leap with Mason again because she is afraid of getting hurt but also she was afraid of what the judgmental people in town would think. Their chemistry is undeniable but can Cassidy let go of the past and let Mason love her and give her the life she has always wanted and deserves?

Dream On by Stacey Keith Dreams Come True #1 Cassidy Roby, hurt and angry, made a huge mistake when she was a freshman in high school. Her mistake ended up in her becoming a single mother at fifteen. For ten years she has been a devoted mother without any assistance from the father of her child. Her family has been there to assist her throughout as her small town judged her severely. Into her life appears the man she has carried a torch for since high school – sure he broke her heart but she has never stopped loving him (here I kind of thought – really?). He is gob-smacked when he lays eyes on her again and is in hot pursuit even though as an NFL quarterback for years he has had access to numerous beauties. He believes she is THE ONE for him and sets out to have her in his life forever. Dating ensues, the father of Cassidy’s child makes an appearance, the town takes sides and gossips up a storm and Cassidy and Mason Hannigan have the possibility of a second chance at love – IF they can find a way forward through all the things that seem to pop up causing obstacles. This was a good beginning to a new series. I enjoyed the book and the characters even though I wondered how realistic the story would actually be in real life. But then, it is a story and fiction and provided a base for more stories in the future. I am looking forward to reading the stories of Cassidy’s sisters and wonder if Mason’s teammates might have a series of their own in the future. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Lyrical Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars
