Drew Mullins is the most secretive member of the Justice team. Everyone knows that he's been through hell and back as he wouldn't be such a loner as he is if he hadn't, but nobody but Hugh honestly knows the true extent to what Drew went through. However, his past is coming to catch up with him and there are many that are worried he may not come out on top this time. Ryder Mackenzie has been alone since the death of her father and has made a name for herself as guide for extreme sports. Living near the river she knows that it's not for the faint of hearts. Seeing a little girl in distress Mac remembers nothing of what happened except that she was trying to rescue the little girl. When she wakes she's seeing people in her room that nobody is else seeing and now being told that she's the other half of a man that she's only just met. Both Drew and Mac will have to overcome their demons before they can come out on top. Will Drew be strong enough to finally face his mother and overcome the fear she still instills in him? Will little Becky's father succeed at getting back at Mac for not saving him? Poor Drew. My heart breaks for him. He's a lonely man who doesn't know what it's like to be loved. Having a mother who only saw the benefits of keeping him around, but made sure she took out her frustration and anger on him he doesn't know that he's been loved this entire time.

Book 5 in the Justice Series -- Drew works with Steele as a necromancer. He is haunted by his mother and doesn't tell anyone. He doesn't want to do this anymore. Mac tries to save a little girl and they both go over the falls. The little girl is saved but Mac is hurt very badly and might not make it. She almost died and now the ghosts won't leave her alone -- especially the little girls dad who is mad because she didn't save him and wants Mac to die so he can hurt her. Between the two they are a hot mess but their lives are better after finding each other. Can they make this work? Can Steele and his group find the help they need to get on with their lives? excellent read and would recommend.
