The Prime Ruele and his pack arrive at a house filled with their enemy the jackals who hold one of the pack members Chayne nailed through his extremities. They know that jackals feed on emotional anguish and proceed carefully because one bite will kill them. Ruele senses someone else nearby filled with pain and sorrow. As his team kills the jackals and frees a severely hurt Chayne, Ruele finds a woman huddled on the top floor. He goes to her only to be stunned when she tells him "sange, banter mo" before going unconscious. They take her to their city Jeth. The female is battered all over her small body and when she awakens she does not know her name, how she got to the building, or how she got hurt. She calls him her mate and says he is hung well. Ruele informs her no one wants a Sange as a mate except their own kind as other species believe his is perverted due to their orgasmic bites. Ruele calls her Mystique which she likes. Mystique seduces Ruele telepathically as he thinks of what she first said "sange, banter mo"; drink of me a sange mate affectionate phrase and sensual action. For the first time he is losing control of his mind and the rest of the pack feels it as his energy is the strongest. She begins to display telepathic and healing powers, but remains a mystery and much of the Prime remain suspicious of her and her past will soon catch up to her. This is an enjoyable stand alone romantic fantasy that is not part of the Nightwalker-Shadowdweller saga. The Frank world is solidly established and the lead couple is an interesting pairing as both have extraordinary paranormal powers while the support cast especially his pack is strong. Although the villain is weak, readers will appreciate Jacquelyn Frank's entertaining tale. Harriet Klausner

When his Sange pack, a fanged and clawed tribe of telepathic warriors, raids a Jackal compound, Reule - the Prime - senses a great sorrow in the house. Following the trail, he finds a woman, sadly neglected and hidden away in the attic. When she touches him, he senses she is more than just any woman. She could possibly be his mate. Removing her from the home, he sees that she is cleaned up and taken care of. Then he will have to decide what to do with her. Mystique is the name she chooses for herself, but she has no memory of why she was in a Jackal compound or who she was before she came to be there. She does know she can trust Reule with her life and heart, but what happens when her past catches up to them before she can remember what it is? Jacquelyn Frank launches a new world in Drink of Me, one in which danger lurks behind every corner and emotions can get you killed. Reule is a Sange, a feared creature thought of as a monster by most people. He is actually a sweet, yet very strong alpha man raised to lead. He is a brilliant but sensitive man who leads with wisdom and strength. Mystique has survived horrible things at the hands of the Jackals, but she is still strong and trusting after all she has been through. When she first meets Reule, he wonders why she isn't afraid of him. He's even more confounded when she utters the words, "Drink of me." This is a statement Sange make to their spouses. Mystique is surprisingly willing to accept Reule as her mate. Her trust and understanding enable these two to learn not only how to start over but how to love. I loved this new and interesting world and how the Sange are big, tough Alphas, but when they love, they are tender and sweet. I hope there will be more books set in this world, perhaps even a full series. I think readers will really enjoy the Sange and those they love.

With every series that Ms. Frank has offered to her legions of fans, she seems to have gotten better and better with each one (if that's at all possible). I, for one, have always been a fan of the stories that make up the series' The Nightwalkers; The Shadowdwellers; and, The Gatherers. Each and every character has been unforgettable and the passion that they inspire truly makes for great stories! Reule is the Prime (the leader) of a Pack of beings who drink blood. Now.wait a minute.they are NOT vampires. Reule's "family" is called the Sange, and they actually NEED to drink the blood of their mates. Kind of an odd way to "bond," but, alas, that's the way it is for the Sange. (Anything in the name of love, I suppose) Now the Sange tribe has very special powers - they are telepathic. When a pack member is in trouble, Reule and the rest of his Pack mount a search and rescue mission and, while saving their cohort, the pack stumbles across a woman by the name of Mystique. She is actually hiding out from the enemies of the Sangre tribe known as the Jackals. Unfortunately for Mystique, she is suffering from amnesia and Reule feels strangely protective of the beautiful woman who has no idea what's going on around her. He's completely honorable, as always, and brings her back to his home in order to make ensure her safety. What Reule doesn't know is that Mystique has a very special gift of her own; she's a healer, and quickly becomes invaluable to the Sangre tribe. Reule finds himself, for the first time ever, completely thrown by a female. Usually so completely dominant and self-assured, Mystique has the ability to make him feel confused, aroused.beside himself in all ways. The only thing he seems to know for sure is that he never wants Mystique to be away from him. There is so much to tell you about this book, plot-wise, but I want to give absolutely nothing away. Because, as always when it comes to Ms. Frank, this is one that you will want to have on your home bookshelf. I know, I know.everyone who reads my reviews knows that I'm not usually pleased with anything that drinks blood. The constant flow of novels regarding vampires and blood drinkers that have saturated the marketplace since old Edward arrived on the scene, has left me with a headache the size of Greenland. But you must understand this, dear readers, Ms. Frank has been thrilling audiences with her passion, mysticism, sensuality - everything - since before Jacob was a pup, or Edward was even a blip in Meyer's eye. J This woman absolutely knows her stuff!! Enjoy! Until Next Time, Amy

Author does a great job of creating a world that you can imagine in detail from the individual characters to their unusual society. Great interaction between the lead characters and enough development of supporting roles to leave you wanting more. I,too, hope Frank will seriously consider creating a complete series building on 'Drink of Me'. This is my first book by Frank, but will not be my last.

I didn't know what to expect. I'm not really a "blood drinker/vampire" fan but I did enjoy this story. It had mysteries that kept you on your toes.
