Drop Dead, Gorgeous: A Novel by J. D. Mason

Desimonda returned to seek out revenge in J.D. Mason's Beautiful, Dirty, Rich. Now, in Drop Dead, Gorgeous, her best friend, Lonnie, is out for a little payback of her own

Lonnie Adebayo, best friend to Desimonda Greene, is a walking, talking billboard for the old adage, "You can't keep a good woman down." But Jordan Gatewood has done so much more than just try and keep her down. He made a huge mistake when he put his hands on her, thinking that he could get away with it. But he made an even bigger mistake by not making sure that she was dead before he left that house. Finding his secret half-brother is just the beginning of Lonnie's plot for revenge.

Lonnie Adebayo’s fate was sealed at the end of “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich”…almost. Brutalized, traumatized, and victimized, Lonnie survived with the help of another and is determined to make the man responsible answer for his actions. Easier said than done when the man responsible is the Jordan Gatewood. More secrets were revealed and readers received more insight into the Yolanda ‘Lonnie’ Adebayo in this sequel, “Drop Dead, Gorgeous.” As always, Mason writes one heck of a story. I preferred this book as I found Lonnie to be a more interesting character though there was less plot. I wish more had been done with the subplot. “Drop Dead, Gorgeous” does what it set out to do – tell Lonnie’s story. Overall I enjoyed it. Like its predecessor, I was disappointed with the ending as I was looking for a conclusion. Reviewed by: Toni 3.75 stars

Once again another page turner by J.D. Mason! My book club had a great discussion around this book and of course all the twists and turns had us at odds with each other. That's what I call a good book! I plan to keep checking to see if and when the 3rd book will be out.

Rarity heard a sound behind her." Dont kick her!" Spike scolded. Whirling around, she saw it was Rainbow Dash. The others were standing behind her warily. Angerly she attempted to turn Rainbow to stone. Dodging, she kicked Rarity again, but in the face. The blow was so hard that she fell to the ground, bleeding." Ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh im sorry!" Rainbow said when she saw how bad the bleeding was. Pinkie nearly fainted and Fluttershy accually did, and the rest of the group was in shock. Spike ran up to Rarity." Forgive her, Rarity!" He said. As she got up, he hugged her leg. She peered down at him. She had grown as tall as a princess, so Spike was particuarrily short. Suddenly she had an idea. But the real Rarity forced it not to happen. Nightmare Rarity fell to the ground once again. Spike ran over to Twilight." Heal her, Twilight! Please!" He pleaded." Im sorry, Spike. I cant. She'll only cause trouble." Rarity glanced furiously at them. Using the strength she had left, she teleported far away. Out of Equestria. Spike freaked." Where'd she go?!" Apple Jack shook her head."I dont know, Spike. I just dont know.
meanwhile...
Rarity appeared in front of the Changling castle. Just where she wanted to be. Immediatly Queen Crysilis sensed anither evil presence in the area." Who are you?" She asked her."Nigtmare Rarity. And i only ask you of 2 things: Heal me, and help me destroy Equestria."
