About the Author

Danyah is a dedicated mindfulness practitioner, meditation facilitator, and founder of The Mellow Mind, who lives in Sydney, Australia with her husband, Mikal and their cat, Gizmo. She is also the author of meditation book Dropping In: A Meditation Journal.

Her first encounter with meditation began 15 years ago, when she was introduced to various techniques in a meditation workshop, and over the years has deepened into a now daily mindfulness practice.

Drawn to meditation as a result of her anxiety and perfectionism, it became clear to Danyah that the life enhancing benefits of meditation, and in particular mindfulness-based practices, were something she wanted to share, and so began her journey developing the skills to not only assist herself, but to also help others live their lives more fully and intentionally.

Building on her personal practice and facilitation skills in transformative meditation, Danyah is currently undertaking 200 hour teacher certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) - having completed level 1 (100 hours), and continues with interest to expand her understanding of mindfulness related practices inspired by traditional and contemporary authorities in this growing area of interest.

Born out of a desire to enrich and inspire the process of journaling her meditation practice, and unsatisfied with the options available to her, in 2016 Danyah set about creating the purpose-designed meditation journal, Dropping In: A Meditation Journal.

Danyah is a Registered Meditation Teacher with the Meditation Association of Australia. You can follow her on Instagram (@themellowmind) or on Facebook (facebook.com/themellowmindAU).
