Justin Morgan would happily drown the pain of his injured leg-and the guilt he brought back from Afghanistan-in bourbon. Except, there won't be any booze if he doesn't rescue his family's century-old distillery from financial ruin. The problem? Allie McGrath-youngest daughter of the distillery's co-owners, and the one woman he can't have.

Allie has been in love with Justin since...well, she's always been in love with him. Now he's home, broken up over the death of her brother, and he needs help. She can fix the distillery-she's sure of it-but no one's taking her or her sweet new idea seriously. Convincing Justin is her only hope.

Allie is more tempting than Justin expected, threatening a promise he swore he'd never break. If he can't keep their attraction under control, there's a solid chance they'll send the whole enterprise crumbling to the ground...if he doesn't crash and burn first.

Drunk On You hooks you from the starts, gives you the feeling of being drunk, but leaves you without the nasty hangover. From the first page, Stanley captured my attention. Drunk On You is full of wonderfully written characters, a great and engaging plot, and a story line that demands your attention. I was even intrigued by the supporting characters that Stanley has included. Allie is such a quirky, fun character. In love with Justin for as long as she can remember, now that he is home, she's having a hard time resisting him despite telling herself she has been over him for years. While fighting to prove herself to her family and show them that she can help fix the distillery, the only person who believes in her is Justin. Justin is struggling with the death of his best friend, who was like a brother to him. Justin and his best friend were in Afghanistan and Justin witnessed his best friend's death. Broken up about it, he heads home. With a sprained ankle, there's no way of escaping his family and his over-bearing dad who wants him to take his place in the bourbon making business just like Justin's twin brother. The other thing keeping him in place? Allie. The same Allie who happens to be his dead best-friend's little sister. I loved the chemistry between Allie and Justin. Justin is strong, wise, and handsome. You can feel the love he had for his 'brother' and how he respected him and is still respect him, even though he's gone. Drunk On You is about friendship, unrequited crushes, grief, healing, and love. Stanley takes readers on an emotional roller. I loved the connection between Allie and Justin and how heart-warming this book is. This book is amazing and Stanley is such a talented author. I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down.

I did like this book, but I didn’t love it. I love books where the guy falls for his best friends little sister. And that is the case for this book. And add that he’s an ex-military guy and lives in my home state-Kentucky, how could I not give this a try? The book started out good. It was pretty interesting at first, but as it went on, some of the things Greg says/ does really annoyed me. For example, his excuse about anything that has to do with Allie is that she is his best friends little sister. I mean I got it after the first 500 times. However, there was somethings that did like. I really liked how we get to see Greg and Allie’s relationship grow into what they have now. They didn’t rush, it just gradually happened. I also liked the characters they got to meet on their road trip where their trying to find an investor and promoting for Allie’s new product- Rainbow Dog. Which I can say I’m not a fan of the name. She could have picked something different. And I think the biggest problem I had with this book is where he call his ex-girlfriend pet names too. EX: My girl or something to that affect. No, he should not be calling her anything but her name. I don’t think he done it intently but I still don’t like it. And I think you can tell that I don’t like her. And she does play another part in the book but I’m not saying what. Somethings where predicable about their relationship, but usually when I read books anymore that’s usually the case at some point in a book. The author did leave me wanting to know what’s going on with Greg’s older brother… The characters worked well together, but there was just something missing for me. Something was lacking for me really love this book. It just didn’t I will give the author another shot. The book wasn’t terrible but I also didn’t love it. 3/5 stars

Ink Angels Book Blog received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. When long-time family friend and childhood crush, Greg Morgan, finally comes home after serving overseas, Allie has a lot on her plate and a career in the family business to nurture. Unfortunately, the only thing that comes to mind when Greg enters the room is booze, blues and a Marine with tattoos. Greg is no longer the fun loving, carefree boy that tolerated Allie when they were kids. Now he carries invisible scars and the desire to fulfill a dying wish so he can finally escape his hometown prison, but Allie McGrath creates a complication he never expected. How can the girl he once called ‘Sneezy’ make him question his resolve and keep his pants tight in all the wrong places? I have always been a fan of military romance, but Drunk on You offered a special back story that had me rooting for this couple from the start. Stanley does a fantastic job developing her characters and allowing the reader to experience the joy and sorrow of two families. This novel will capture your heart and make you laugh, a truly wonderful combination.

My Thoughts: Allie has always been the girl Greg* couldn't have because she's his best friend David's sister. After he goes with David to be in the Marines and comes back alone, it's his responsibility to take care of Allie. This turns out to be more difficult than imagined since there's a clear desire on both sides. They end up going on a little road trip together to help promote Allie's shiny new idea for the distillery. She's afraid of how everyone will respond to this idea, but she's determined to make something of it. The desire between the two of them gets sparked and neither of them can contain themselves any longer. Will the desire turn into more? Drunk on You is entertaining and touches the heart at the same time. I will admit that I had trouble with the story at the start, but once I reached the end, the feels got to me when Greg is talking about David. It's one of those clutch your heart kind of moments. The romance between Greg and Allie is built piece by piece. Very nice story from Teri Anne Stanley. * Not sure if the name gets changed from what it was in the ARC I downloaded, but the name of the love interest is Greg in my copy and not Justin, just FYI. Guess we'll find out when it gets published, right? My Rating: Pretty Good

This story is set in Kentucky and features two families that are in the bourbon business. Allie has know Justin since they were kids, because he was her older brother's best friend. Justin and Greg joined the Marines together, but unfortunately Justin returned alone and promised Greg to look after his sister. He returns home to see the family before he leaves to become a fire jumper and while there he injures his ankle. Allie has also been striving to break free from her families traditions and produce a product that is more similar to moonshine than bourbon. She ends up taking care of Justin and after a long night of drinking, they are forced to help each other to achieve their respective dreams. They embark on a road trip to promote Rainbow Dog, and in the process they begin to fall in love. Can each break free from the past and discover a future that includes the each other? I enjoyed this book, it was fun, fresh and realistic. I loved the southern setting and enjoyed the descriptions of bourbon. I would recommend this book to fans of military and southern romances. I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Sweet and Emotional Love Story ***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review**** Justin Morgan goes off to Afghanistan with his best friend, David and he is the only one to come back alive. Justin promised his best friend he would look after his sister, Allie not knowing at the time she had grown into a sexy, independent and passionate woman. Justin comes home tortured over the fact he is alive and his friend is dead. He is expected to stay and take over the bourbon making business. Only thing really keeping him around is his bum ankle and Allie-Dave’s little sister. Allie McGrath has been in love with her brother's best friend since she was young but he never saw her as anything but a kid sister and his best friend’s sister. Allie is feisty, she is headstrong, cute, but most often people overlook her except Dave and he is no longer around to be there for Allie. Allie has plans to have the distillery- She doesn’t know how many will respond to how she wants to save the distillery but hopes they would listen to her. Justin comes back into her life and the flames of passion spark back up between them. Justin has survivor’s guilt still and he allows that to be between them but he also has those sparks of passion. Can they finally be together after all this time or will he allow his fears to keep them apart? This is a sweet, emotional story. It is sad because you wished the brother could have come home from the war to see his sister be happy and you wished that Justin and Dave could have continued with their friendship. It understood why but still the emotional piece of the story tears your heart. Both MC are good people who wanted to be happy and the ending was satisfying. Cannot wait to read more from this author. My rating: 4.3 stars ****

I feel like this book had a great deal of potential, but it sort of fell short for me. The characters were all very well written and the family interactions were realistic and enjoyable. However, the main plot wasn't executed particularly well. There just wasn't a lot of chemistry between Ally and Justin. I feel like what Justin was going through was just something mentioned to make him seem damaged and edgy and then swept away to be brought out again at the end. I loved the idea of the two of them embarking on the Rainbow Dog journey together but it just seemed rushed and to lighthearted for what their roadblocks were supposed to be.

Drunk On You by Teri Anne Stanley is highly entertaining. Set in the south amid the bourbon distillery world, Drunk On You follows the relationship between Allie McGrath and Justin Morgan. Determined to save the family distillery Allie and Justin go on a road trip together to pitch Allie’s new idea. Easy enough, except Allie and Justin share a history together which complicates everything. Allie has always loved Justin, and Justin is fighting his attraction because of a promise he made to her brother, his best friend. The chemistry between Allie and Justin is pretty solid. I wouldn’t say it was overly steamy, but it was just enough to keep the heat going through out the book. This is definitely more of a heart-warming romance that will give you some major FEELS. I’m talking an emotional roller coaster ride of FEELS! Allie is a fairly quirky character, and I completely adored her. She’s creative, ambitious, strong, and vulnerable at times. Her determination and conviction also makes her admirable. Justin’s equally as tenacious which makes for some fun and witty dialogue between the couple. “You’re going to have to get your social butterfly personality back and dust it off,” she told him. “We’re going on a road trip.” “Ah hell,” he said, finally sitting down. There are so many quotes I got a kick out of, but I don’t want to give too much away. I really enjoyed this read, it really got my feelings going all over the place. Stanley’s Drunk on You is more than just a love story, it’s about friendship and loss and the painstaking journey to recovery. If, like me, you love heart-felt romances then you need to go grab a copy of this book and read it! **Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick run read between a strong quirky woman who secretly crushed on her brother's best friend most of her life. I loved how Allie wore her heart on her sleeve for Justin. Haven't we all been there? An unrequited crush with that best friend? And I could feel her heartbreak when it wasn't returned. I guess that is what I like about this book. Teri Anne Stanley made it relatable to where you could picture yourself in Allie's shoes. I adored Allie, ambitious, sarcastic, creative, full of life, vulnerable to those she loves, and great friend. I loved the chemistry between Justin and Allie, especially after he finally notices her. Their hands could not stay off each other. This was such a great, entertaining, friends to lovers, supporting one another tale that was so relatable and just had an uplifting feel to it. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

I found this to be a very entertaining read! It's very well written but could use a little closer editing, although it's nothing that takes away from the overall story. Greg is home from Afghanistan filled with guilt and trying to drown those memories with bourbon. Allie has been in love with Greg forever but he has always looked at her as his best friend's little sister. After a fire at their families distillery, the are thrown together to come up with a way to repair things before their parents return. As their adventure continues, the chemistry between them begins to burn bright! This was a fun read and I would recommend it.

There is so much that I can say about Drunk on You. Emotional, breathtaking, romantic just to name a few. The most descriptive would be great. Teri Anne Stanley's story of love, heartbreak and bourbon is at times painful but is also a story of healing and second chances. Justin wants to wallow in his own misery but Allie is determined to pull him out of the darkness. I receive an ARC of Drunk On You in exchange for an honest review. YES, this is a beautiful story!
