WHATEVER AMBER WANTS... Lila s perfect Saturday night means falling asleep on the couch with a glass of wine and a good book. But even the perfect night could go bad when Lila starts longing to know what secrets her brain keeps locked away. Left with only distorted nightmares of her life before the accident, she numbly goes through life, hoping to find out just who she is. Amber, double-crossed by a lover, would much rather be slipping something in the wine than sipping it. While she gives great pleasure, loving Amber comes with great pain. Her body is a weapon and she knows how to use it. Detective Balducci, now removed from the Harvester Killer case, begins an off-the-record investigation that will not only test his skill as a seasoned yet loose cannon police officer, but stretch his emotions to the breaking point. As their lives crash together, past scandals and shocking truths surface as they find out just how close to the killer they have been all along.

I also help to edit their special anthologies and help convert most of their publications to e-publications. I am the single mother of two wonderful children and work full time as a bookkeeper for a real estate company, where I am also the IT tech, human resources, sales processing, coffeemaker and general gopher. During my spare time (I really have some?) I own a dance studio and performance group. I also dabble in graphic art and use that knowledge to make business cards for people who need something more creative than the norm. I like to write short stories and have been published in several anthologies. My erotic thriller is now available, so go check out Dual Harvest here on Amazon and order it. I have also decided that I am now cool enough for a blog. www.lorimichelleauthor.com. In case you can't tell, my favorite color is purple. :)

The Harvest Killer is murdering men and taking their organs. Detective Balducci, though officially removed from the case, decides to continue investigating and becomes very closely involved. A word of warning: Dual Harvest contains very graphic scenes of violence and plenty of sex m/f as well as f/f. It is a bit of a mash-up between a psychological thriller and a horror story. I really enjoyed the plot, and although it was pretty predictable, I wanted to keep reading to see if it all played out as I imagined it. I actually enjoyed the detectives' point of view and the banter between them, which seems to put me in the minority again going by the other reviews. Oh, well. However, I feel the book could have been better edited/proofread. The language used was repetitive at times (then, then, then...) and so were the thoughts of the characters. There were a lot of details provided for some parts which I felt weren't really necessary but on other parts I would have liked more. Nevertheless, it was a fun read with some very good dark and gritty elements. 3.5 stars I have received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
