Duke and Gen have belonged together for a long time apparently, and I am so glad that they finally found each other! Duke and a few of the members of his motorcycle club are moving from Atlanta to set up their own chapter in Chattanooga. The crime rate is high where they want to go, and having a club in the area helps bring it down. But it takes time to establish, so even when Duke has his instant attraction to Gen as their realtor, and after it is pointed out to him, he stays away from pursuing her until things are more settled. But once he sets out to get her, that werewolf is persistent and tenacious is getting his woman Gen has brought herself up in the world but working hard and being business savvy. She has horrible taste in men though, and all that hard work meant she didn't spend a lot of time worrying about it. She hasn't explored a lot of life sexually with men, and doesn't think she is missing anything. Keeping everything professional in her work life, and working hard, means she is pretty straightlaced, and that in no way prepares her for Duke Both Duke and Gen explore the relationship and don't really change, but adjust a little, to fit better with the other. They both realize early on that staying as themselves around the other just won't work, and they both really want this to work. They both make mistakes and need to ask for forgiveness, and they both are strong willed and have to learn to bend a bit. These are two very smart people, so they do work things out once given a chance to reflect The paranormal element isn't strong in the book, but it is there. The link between Duke and Gen is interesting and something I hadn't seen before - very cool! Duke and the club members are shifters, most werewolves, and Gen is human. Some of the side characters are paranormal as well, but lots of humans too. The book really felt like the building of a family, with Duke and Gen at the head. So many growing pains, but at the end, all these people are part of the bigger thing because of Duke and Gen!

Duke is supposedly alpha and head of mc, but he gives up his man card because his aggressiveness and assertiveness scates her. Yet when he turns into a wolf, she doesn't freak out. I only made through half the book. Although she had fighting skills, she continued to wimp out and I couldn't take it anymore. Why put a delicate into a mc book and then bring down the tough guy? I might as well read a Harlequin romance. Any steamy scenes.... I can't remember. That s how boring it was. Plus.. I wish writers had better editors. The comma slices kill me.

Most every sheltered and proper woman sees a hot looking bad boy and at least for one very fleeting moment, wonders, ‘What if?’ Want to add to the “what if” pot, just to sweeten it? What if said bad boy was pure male, pure alpha, the President of a powerful motorcycle club and, wait for it…pure werewolf? Stop drooling and pick up Duke by Candace Blevins and start those fantasy wheels spinning! Gen was his friend’s little sister, but now she is all grown up, a successful business woman and back in Duke’s life. Too bad getting together could be dangerous for her, as she continues to live blissfully in her “human” world. Ahhh, another battle between the light and dark sides of life, but this one takes place as much between the sheets as it does on the streets as Gen wages her own war to keep her identity and Duke. Love the dialogue Candace Blevins adds to this hot steamy romance. Talk about opposites attracting! Her characters are delightful, her writing strong and her imagination, well, hot! Who would think one real estate deal could bring two worlds colliding together with nuclear heat? Guess it’s true what they say, Location, Location, Location…Grab your helmets, trade those stilettos for boots and hang on tight! I received this copy in exchange for my honest review.

Although this is the first in the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club series, it apparently has characters crossover from a different series, which I haven't read. Although this was in no way detrimental to the storyline itself, it did mean that I was glad when a bit more detail was given about who did what and where! This is a case of opposites attracting and for some reason, I could just never picture Gen and Duke together in my head. They are both well described but it just never gelled in my mind. I guess the most obvious reason is that Gen is so high maintenance and prissy in parts, that I just couldn't figure out how the two of them managed to stay together! Gen's reactions to some situations was over the top, that even with her history, just couldn't be quite explained away. In other cases, I loved her reactions and thought that she was sassy. Duke is called controlling in the synopsis, but I would also call him overbearing too. I liked him, but I would have kicked him into touch a few times! This is a long book but big chunks are taken up with the rules and regs of the MC, backstory and suchlike. Then other things come along and blindside you, like the fact that Duke and the MC were having trouble with the local cops, headed by Gen's ex! There was nothing even hinting at this. Overall, an enjoyable read. Recommended more so for fans of the MC world, than for those who like paranormal. * I received this book from Bit 'n' Books in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Duke is the first in the Rolling Thunder MC series, but Candace has characters that interweave from previous books, so you will definitely get a feel for established couples. Duke is the president of the Club, he’s also a werewolf shifter. Duke has known Genesis, Gen for short since her teens, she is his good friend’s little sister and was off limits. They run into each other when she is showing him property for her real estate company. The sparks are there, but he has to bide his time as showing interest could put her in danger. When they finally hook-up again, he makes his intentions clear, she is his and will claim her. From that point we are taken on a wild ride, as he opens her horizons and introduces her to his MC life. Gen has a very strong backbone and can take care of herself and this also helps in seeing Duke’s club members accept her into their ranks. Duke was so gentle with Gen, loved how their relationship grew and he introduced her to some wild sexy times, but he had to make her communicate because he felt she was holding back, when they reach a hurdle, what does it take to make a commitment to each other? As soon as I started this book, I just could not put it down, I cursed having to go into work, I snuck a few pages while at work and then would continue voraciously when I got home. The story kept me so engrossed as I turned page after page. I held my breath towards the end, you’ll find out why when you read it and I highly recommend you do. Duke and Gen’s story is not just about love but overcoming inhibitions and most of all trusting the one you love. * I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review
