The Dungeon Master's Guide for 5th Edition is an excellent resource for dungeon masters and a necessity for playing the game. Part 1 contains a couple of chapters offering advice on building your own campaign worlds, including pantheons and laying out your multiverse. Part 2 looks at designing the individual adventures that make up a campaign. Topics such as random encounters, pacing, and map-making are all discussed. All of the treasure tables and descriptions of the magical items are also included here. Part 3 wraps up the book with some general advice for running games, numerous rules variations to help establish a certain "feel" for a campaign or to change things up for experienced players looking for something new, and for creating entirely new races, classes, and monsters.

The content is 5 star worthy. All the detail you want. But it arrived damaged due to awful packing.

An intuitive update to a classic system. The newest edition of the Dungeon Master's Guide is well laid out, incredibly useful (as always), and offers an intuitive approach to the newest system. A couple of my favorite features are the random generators (tables you roll on) for dungeon creation, lair creation, lore, and map creation! The Wizards team really tried to cover their bases with this one and I certainly approve! As a long time player and new DM, I really appreciate this book.

In my opinion this is one of the best Dungeon Master Guides that I've seen. It is well organized and very helpful for all DM's.

The different parts are well laid out and easy to use. But, I prefer first edition AD&D due to the charts and other items I use in my game sessions. The 'to hit' information is in the Players' Handbook.
