Somehow, the author wrote this novella so it can appeal to all readers (it wasn't narrated to address only himself & his father). All I can say is that it's a beautiful story of a man bringing his father to rest & peace at sea. The imagery is amazing, dreamy, & every page is filled with heartwrenching sentiment. But what I loved the most is how the author turns a seemingly real life account into a sea fantasy. I won't give anything away, but his prose & plot are amazing. This already ranks as one of my favorites (not to mention it's a grippingly short read). And most of all, I read that proceeds are going to the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research. A must buy & read!

i couldn't put this book down.  you can tell that the author poured his heart and soul into this story, and the close relationship he had with his father resonates on every page.  i highly recommend to anyone who  wants to ready a truly great story.

Dusk and Summer....a 55 page Novella is a beautifully written story. On each page the intense love between a Father and his Son and the intense pain the son feels with the news of his Father's illness becomes apparent. You become easily absorbed into the story....tearing up already on page three of the forward....it is touching to say the least! An amazing story written by an amazing author!

A truly heartfelt, emotion packed story from a son to his deceased father. The profit from the sale of this book is going to the Lustgarten Foundation. The story made me laugh and cry at time. Wonderfully written.

Wow! This story is packed with emotion. It's a roller coaster ride of pain, loss, love, and fantastical mysteries only a few are privileged enough to experience. It's clear the author poured his heart and soul into every page and created a fitting resting place for his father using his imagination and talent. If you like a fast-paced, emotionally-packed book - you'll love this one! After the story ends, it doesn't just end there. The author goes on to tell of his father's real life struggle, and what inspired him to write a tribute for him and his life. Don't misunderstand, this book isn't about his father's struggle with cancer, it's about the way the author imagined his father would have loved to be remembered. Plus, each sale helps in the fight against pancreatic cancer. It's a two for one, and once you start reading it, you won't want to stop!
