Dutchman's Mine: The Adventures of Latakia Billows
Ten years after his grandfather's disappearance, Christopher Billows suddenly learns there might be more to the man's life and sudden vanishing than he ever suspected. An ornate box, containing an old Peterson smoking pipe and an old photo of the two men from years before, spark a hunt for the Lost Dutchman's Mine and a treasure that many have sought but none found, at least not yet. The dangerous journey takes them face to face with booby traps that would make Indiana Jones flinch. As much as it lampoons the great adventure stories from the author's youth, Dutchman's Mine is a love letter to the genre, using humor not only to poke fun but also to express deep affection. As the author's father taught him long ago, "If your friends don't pick on you, you don't have any friends." With that in mind, Christopher "Latakia" Billows is the most loving person around. His quick tongue delights no one more than himself as he lovingly launches sarcasm at his best friend Julio and former girlfriend Asia, who are more than willing to return it. Will Latakia find the Lost Dutchman's gold? Will he ever get his pipe to stay lit? Will his ex-girlfriend ever stop punching him in the face? The answers to those questions lay deep in Arizona's Superstition Mountains, as will Latakia's body, if Asia has her way.

About the Author

Tom Treweek used to be an award-winning journalist, but now he finds more satisfaction telling his own stories. He is a bald, tattooed skeptic who would rather be completely off his rocker than anything resembling normal. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Tom has since lived in New Mexico and Arkansas, although he still considers the places in his imagination as his home. He watches way too many of Gordon Ramsay's television shows, even though he is dismayed by the lack of profanity. Even though he loves sushi, he has no idea whether or not he should eat the shrimp tails. Dutchman's Mine is his first, and likely his most family-friendly, novel.
