I used to run track and play soccer for 4years...among many other activities that kept me in terrific shape. I graduated from high school and remained inactive for a couple of years. I did a little karate that helped me lose a little of the weight I put on. (Thank you college 15 and marriage.) I work so much that I have little to no time for myself. That's when I got into this video. It actually causes me to sweat quite a bit and leaves me sore the next day (a GOOD thing)! I love it I get an awesome workout at home in a few minutes and feel like I've accomplished ALOT! I searched through all the DVD's B&N had to offer and read the reviews on ALL of them. I wrote down the highly recommended DVD's and headed up to my local B&N. I chose the ones with the best recommendation and with reviews that said they accomplished the same goal I was after. I chose three and bought them. THIS ONE WAS THE BEST CHOICE! Also, I love creating my own workout...that is an awesome feature! LOVE IT!
The ten minutes are over before you know it! I love the abs, buns/thighs, and burn segments. You really see results quickly.
I hate exercising. I detest it. But I love this video. The 56 minutes (if you do all 5 segments) that the video lasts fly by. It's a simple workout, not too stressful on your joints, and it doesn't leave you breathless, but I have been noticing that my clothes are a bit looser after only a month (3-4x's a week).
Never having tried Pilates I didn't want to sink a bunch of money into it. I found this video and thought it sounded interesting. I figured I could do the 10 minute sets and get a feel for if Pilates is something I wanted to do or not. I was surprised by how hard it works the muscles. By the end of the 10 minute section on Abs I am more than ready to move on. I think this tape (I have the vhs not dvd version) is a good trial for the beginer. I think that if I stick with it I will outgrow it pretty quickly and need a more advanced workout. If you just aren't sure if Pilates is what you want this is probalby a good place to start. I would recommend it.
Instructor Lara Hudson gives clear instructions on how to do each exercise and on how to breathe. This is a very good pilates video that targets every muscle group, challenges you without overwhelming you, and is easily broken up into 10 minute sections so you can do as much or as little as you want depending on your time limitations. If you like Pilates this is a program you will like.
