3000 Miles to GracelandDirector: Demien Lichtenstein
After squaring off in 1995 with competing movie biographies of frontier lawman Wyatt Earp, actors Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner co-star in this action crime caper as former cronies engaged in a series of double-crosses over some stolen loot. Michael Zane (Russell) and Thomas Murphy (Costner) are the leaders of a gang of ex-convict thieves using an Elvis Presley impersonator convention to pull off a daring heist in a Las Vegas casino. The gang also includes Gus (David Arquette), Hanson (Bokeem Woodbine), and Franklin (Christian Slater). Although they manage to retrieve the money, the crooks turn on each other in bloody fashion and Murphy (who believes he's actually the illegitimate son of Elvis) makes off with the illegal funds. In hot pursuit are the police and Michael, who's encumbered by his girlfriend Cybil (Courtney Cox-Arquette) and her young son Jesse James. Written and directed by music video creator Demian Lichtenstein, 3000 Miles to Graceland also stars Kevin Pollak, Ice-T, and Howie Long.

Man this is a violent movie! Talk about anti-heroes! Costner, Russel, Slater, and company are the most criminal bunch of rednecks imaginable. Courtney Cox, looking a whole lot beter than she does on "Friends" plays slimy trash. It's a good movie, but I hope I never meet anyone like this. This is like "Deliverance" in Vegas with attractive people.
First of all, and I feel I should say this, if you think, that this movie has something to do with the late Elvis Presley, then you can except a lot of his songs in here. Well, there is not. There are a total of 3 songs sung by Elvis Presley. (Trouble, Such a Night and My Way). As the movie opens, Thomas Murphy (Kevin Costner), Michael (Kurt Russell), Hanson (Christian Slater), Gus (David Arquette), and Franklin (Bokeem Woodbine) are planning to rob a casino/hotel in Las Vegas disquised as Elvis Presleys. But the robbery turns into a bloodbath of violence. And the the 6 crook Jack (Howie Long), will pick them up from the casino/hotel in a helicopter. And thier plan is to meet a money launderer (Jon Lovitz). But Franklin dies in the helicopter after being shot in the casino/hotel. And soon Gus and Hanson are killed. Michael has the money first, but he is talked into taking a single mom (Courtney Cox from Friends) and her son (David Kaye). So I think that viewers for this movie be 17 and up, while younger people under 17 will just have to read about it.
This is as bad as it gets.....
3000 ''miles to graceland'' is with out a doubt one of 2001's best movies. It has non-stop action and is Defenitly one of kurt russel's and kevin costner's best performances.
