This is a wonderful comedy. John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, Michael Palin,Tom Georgeson, and Patricia Hayes make up a spectacular cast. They keep the audience laughing every step of the way. The plot involves a diamond robbery. Jamie's character, Wanda, had conspired to keep the jewels completely for herself. She was sleeping with both the man who planned the robbery - George, and weapons expert needed for it - Otto. She had Otto turn George into the police, then planned to Leave Otto with nothing. To her shock they found George had moved the diamonds without telling anyone. Michael Palin's character, Ken, was George's right hand man. He loved animal animals to the point of fanaticism. He was tasked with eliminating the main witness for the trial. In the process he kept mistakenly killing her dogs, one by one. Though he hadn't any problem killing an old lady, he was heart broken over every dog that died. Hilariously when the last died, the old lady dropped dead from a heart attack. Cleese played George's lawyer, Archie. Wanda proceeded to seduce him to get more information, but they genuinely fall for each other in the process. Otto was violently jealous of them. His jealousy resulted in several hilarious attacks on Archie, both before and after Otto located the diamonds. The end has Archie and Wanda eloping to South America, with the Diamonds.

Extermly smart educated style of funny, laugh out loud, humor.
Very well done and the interlectual wit surpasses your common "funny comedy" It is not your Eddie Murphy funny at all. If you like that kind of funny you wont like this movie, because you won't get it.
It got funnier each time I watched it, because you miss so much, the first time, due to the fact that you were laughing at something else prior, to the following punch line. Just rent it you'll be glad you did.

One of my favorite films of all time-- non-stop laughs in a very low key. Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline were both wonderful, but the others were perfect as well.
