I agree with the orginal poster. It must have been cut to fit commericial use, but the loss is noticeable. We bought this because our old copy from the HBO production just plain wore out from us watching it so much. Would love an uncut copy.

There is also an additional scene involving the chicken-turkey-weirdo love triangle, in which the turkey could be sued for harassment and he and Gonzo almost go to blows. While somewhat amusing, it by no means compensates for the loss of the other songs, longer scene of the first Muppet Christmas, and introduction of Fozzie to the snowman. Please advise if a complete version becomes available.

I've watched this movie growing up and was excited to find it on DVD. Much to my disappointment several scenes were cut out and they were VERY noticable (like Fozzie all of a sudden surrounded by the bear and other animals). I'd much rather watch my recorded from TV copy, OshKosh commercials and all.

I dont understand: I loved the original Muppet Family Christmas as it aired on HBO. However, this is not the original Muppet Family Christmas in its entirety. Several scenes have been removed from the DVD release for reasons I cannot comprehend, including Fozzie's song with the snowman and the muppet babies sequence. Why would any scenes be removed? If the full version were released on DVD, it would deserve 5 stars, though this version only merits 3 due to its lost scenes.

The Muppet Family Christmas has become my all-time favorite Christmas Show. Thank goodness I still have a taped copy of the original that aired on TV. What a disapointment when they released the VHS to find that they cut scenes. Even more disapppointing is that when the DVD was released, it was no more than a copy of the VHS version. I still hold out hope that a complete version will be released on DVD - I don't even care if they include the old Oshkosh commercials!!

This is the best movie, it's been in the family for years! It always cracks us up. It's a movie the whole family can watch together.

This is a great seasonal celebration movie. But I must correct the review. Fozzie's mother doesn't know that Fozzie and all his friends are coming to celebrate Christmas. That is part of the fun of this made for TV special. We originally recorded it off the TV fifteen years ago (or so)and have been watching that fuzzy copy for years.
