This movie is EXCEPTIONAL. It is not one of those slasher fliks that seem to overrun the horror sections in movie shops today. This story follows two sisters who just returned from a stay in a hospital because they were feeling sick. They are taken by their rather stoic father to a huge country manor and are given a rather cold and annoyed greeting by their step mother. It is around that point that it should be noted that these two girls are NEVER seperated. It seems one cannot exist without the other. Eventually, the whole atmosphere changes in this movie. As one scene is replayed over and over, everything begins to change. The step mother and older sister become more and more unstable, the father more silent. Things truly go downhill when it is belived that the step mom is abusing the younger sister. But one must remember that reality and imagination are almost entirely indistiguishable from one another at this point. Some people do not like this movie because they get turned away during the scene repetitions. but if you truly love a good thriller without a constant flow of blood, you will love this movie. Stick it out when you sit down to watch, and always pay attention. Something may come up that gives away the secrets, but you have to look carefully at all times. Happy watching!

This is one memorable movie. That's a good horror movie on my list. Basically the story has this, a family, a house, and creepy ghosts.

A Tale of Two Sisters is one of my favourite movies. Wonderful direction, a terrifying, yet touching story of two sisters living with their father and stepmother. Great if you love slow-burning, twisty atmospheric thrillers! I wholeheartedly recommend this movie to any film fan. -mags

The movie Tale of Two Sisters (that was remade in the US as The Uninvited) follows 2 sisters as they are reunited after one of them returns from hospital stay after their mother died. The father has remarried and thus starts the twists and turns of this movie. Not a movie for someone who wants instant gratification. This movie has a slow burn that pays off in the end. It was remade in the US as the Uninvited but I highly recommend that you watch this first then watch the American version as the original has a better progression and is better written (though some things are lost in translation). Watch it with a friend as you will want to discuss this film afterwards!
