with millions of fans both old and new from around the world burning candles relentlessly in hopes of an ABBA reunion, i was one of the lucky ones who saw the superstar quartet in the flesh when they performed in my hometown of st paul, minnesota in september 1979. there i was in the second row from the stage watching these legends in the making in concert performing just as you see them on this dvd. same song selections and costumes and they even mention the TWIN CITIES "st. paul & minneapolis" at the backstage celebration shown on this dvd where they show their late manager stig anderson getting a face full of cake! the concert was one of the best i've ever seen & permanently put to rest any notion that ABBA was more of a "studio" group than a live performing group. they reproduced their recorded sound beautifully onstage, & all four had a stage presence that was nothing short of electrifying. my one wish, to meet all four members of the group after the concert, never happened as agnetha & bjorn were wisked away in their limo right after the final curtain but i did get to meet frida & benny outside the arena just to tell them how much i enjoyed the concert & get a few autographs. little did i know back then that i had witnessed history by seeing them live as ABBA is now bigger than ever before & sadly will probably never be seen live again. i indeed was one of the lucky ones! this dvd brought back all the memories of that special night even more so than seeing "MAMMA MIA" the broadway show. it has been restored with excellent picture & sound & every ABBA fan should own this dvd.
