Adapted from the bestselling autobiographical tome of the same name by veterinarian-turned-scribe James Herriot (as well as its many sequels), the iconic television drama All Creatures Great and Small ran for twelve years and seven series. It was produced by and for the BBC in its native Britain, then re-aired on PBS for years in the United States. This package contains all twelve episodes from Series Five - among them, "Against the Odds," "Choose a Bright Morning," "The Playing Field" and "A New Chapter." In this particular series, Scotch doctor Callum (John McGlynn) continues to work alongside Dr. Herriot, and Tristan returns to the practice from the Ministry of Agriculture to collaborate with the other two vets after a season away, making a full and effective team. Meanwhile, the Dales geographic area continues to demonstrate its slowness in adopting the techniques of modern medicine. Extras in this particular package include a "Who's Who in the Cast" segment.
