Overview

An Officer and a Gentleman

Taylor Hackford's old-fashioned romantic drama An Officer and a Gentleman comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Hackford and a theatrical trailer. This is a solid disc from Paramount that could only be improved with a muscled-up soundtrack.

This is a very inspiring movie and shows of a man will power to accomplish his dreams of becoming someone he could be proud of as well as others. I have watched it over and over again and every time it plays on tv.

Not only a chick flick, I know a lot of men who love this movie. It's got the military and gore for the guys, and love and romance for the ladies. This was the very first video I ever bought, and I still watch it. It's one of my all time favorites.

An all-time favorite chick-flick! The closing scene will have you standing up and cheering with tissue box in hand. A romance movie with a good plot - rare to find.

This is, hands down, the best love story ever made. 10 thumbs up!

Richard Gere gears up as he undergoes some of the most rigorous training in our armed forces because "he's got nobody" while he proves to be a chivilarious lover and marries Debra Winger. Awh! A classic for the romance genre!

Was the first video I show with my boyfriend; now husband; and have seen it many times since (many years). Awesome date flick and romance flick.
