This mixture of red-hot street basketball action and hard-edged hip-hop sounds arrives on DVD in a package that's solid but low on frills. The images have been transferred in their original full-frame format, while the audio is mastered in standard Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo. The disc has not been encoded with subtitles or closed-captioning. While the DVD edition of And 1 Mixtape, Vol. 5 does feature a few additional sequences that didn't make the cut for the VHS release, beyond that, the disc does not include any bonus material. However, given the superior image quality and audio resolution of the DVD over the VHS release (the sound being especially important to hip-hop fans craving a booming low end), the DVD should still be the preferred release for folks trying to decide between formats.
