These three stories from the PBS animated series based on Marc Brown's books may not be Arthur's best, but the eight-year-old aardvark, his family, and his friends are always good company. Arthur is a rare series indeed, one that can appeal to children and their parents while remaining keenly insightful about the trials and tribulations of adolescents -- and manage to be funny, too! The first episode here, "Return of the King," affords Arthur an opportunity to get medieval at a Renaissance Faire, where his class is pitted against students taught (drilled is more like it) by their own teacher's tough-talking former mentor. In the capital misadventure "D.W. Goes to Washington," Arthur's sister gets a private tour of the White House from a nice man who has a neat Oval Office in the West Wing. Finally, in "Sleep No More," Buster believes his destiny is to enter a pizza-eating contest, but he is so excited that he can't sleep.
