Its cut-rate packaging and shoddy-looking menus aside, Warner's first DVD release of Whit Stillman's erudite comedy of manners boasts a bevy of special features to complement its crisp video and audio transfer. Chief among the disc's strengths is the droll, insightful commentary from Stillman and stars Chris Eigeman and Taylor Nichols (the latter of whom reveals he met his future wife on the set of the film). Stillman graciously includes a smattering of deleted scenes with complete commentary, the most revelatory of which is an alternate ending -- complete with the reemergence of anti-American terrorism against the main characters -- that rightly belongs on the cutting room floor, but makes for fascinating viewing nonetheless.
