Batman the 1989 movie is now in Blu-Ray Diamond Luxe Edition. Not only is Batman my favorite superhero, but the movie is one of my favorite too. It has all the good action, storyline, drama, and comedy. The movie should have been retitled The Joker because Jack Nicholson who plays the clown prince of Gotham City stole the show, and he is a good actor. Michael Keaton, who Batfans had their doubts when Director Tim Burton casts him as Batman, plays the part of Batman/Bruce Wayne and did an excellent job. This is Batman at his best.

Batman is clearly one of my ultimate favorite movies of all time. It is sure the best of any of the other Batman films. The plot was great, and so were the actors. Michael Keaton plays the best Bruce Wayne/Batman than the other two guys, which were Val Kilmer and George Calooney (Dont know). I cant really explain it, but he just seems like a very good Bruce Wayne/Batman, His attitude is perfect, and just the way he acts for the part. And Jack Nicholson, was also a great character in this film. He's a crazy guy in most movies, including One flew over the coo-koos nest, and The Shining. This was one of his best roles. He was perfect for the part, no one else could be better than Jack. So, good action, acting, and well, EVERYTHING NOW THAT I THINK OF IT. I'd give it 10 stars for a film.

Tim Burton is to be congratulated for creating such a spectacular visual treat. The gloomy environment that he created is superb. Also, Danny Elfman's riveting score defined the movie and its themes as much as, if not more than, Tim Burton's directing. However, there was one thing lacking in this movie: an intriguing storyline. Granted, that storyline isn't boring; it just lacks that little extra that would put it over the top. But all in all, a wonderful movie that I do not hesitate to recommend.

Tim Burton did a WONDERFUL job on this film! I can't even find the words to explain it. The gothic art of the buildings, and the slumness and darkness just matches the dark knight and Gotham city! Get this dvd, its really cool!

A great cast and a great director make this film impossible to miss. The acting was great with Jack Nicholson playing the villian Joker and Michael Keaton playing Batman. No actor who has played a villian in the other Batman films can compare to Jack Nicholson's Joker. Keaton's Batman is better than the other's who have put on the suit. Kim Bassinger is just as good as Keaton and Nicholson as a reporter who falls for Bruce Wayne and is stalked by Joker throughout the film. The version of Batman that starred Adam West doesn't even compare to the dark style that Tim Burton gave us in this excellent film that spawned 3 sequels that couldn't even be as good this one(except possibly for some Batman Returns that was also directed by Tim Burton). No one can afford to miss this dark film that will for ever be a favorite in among a many people who loved the comics and the graphic novels. It is simply the best of all films that were once comic books.

The cast rulez! Tim Burton is a melancholy genius! Elfman's sountrack beats all else!

This was a good batman movie. I thought that Jack Nichelson was great as Joker and really played him great, and Micheal Keaton played a good batman. It was really one of the better batman movies. Thye only thing I didn't like about this movie is that you can really tell it's from the 80's by the movies style, as with the other batman movies you can't tell when they are made. I recommand this movie, it is really good!

Another overrated production by Burton who's obsession with surrealim results in cheap overbolown plastic backdrops and weak acting. Jack Nicholson and Jack Pallance seem to be the only seasoned actors who leave an impression in this McDonald's Happy Meal promotional film. Michael Keaton's forced acting as Batman is just too laughable to bear with his shallow exclamation 'I'm Batman!' Richard Simmons could portray a more convincing role than Keaton. Kim Basinger as reporter Vicki Vale is the most pathetic performance in this film; a mediocre actress working hard at screaming and little else. The musical score is also overdone; trying to carry a suspenseful theme that the film simply fails to evoke. The movie is too cartoonish and the acting too weak to evoke anything. Again, the stage designs and costumes make the audience feel like they're going to a rave or Halloween party. Everything in this film has the look and feel of being fake. Worth watching once perhaps, but this overpublicized masquerade of a movie gets boring after a short while.

And a good one at that. Tim Burton's take on the Batman Mythos is interesting and great to watch over and over. The character of the joker is how he is in the comics, he tends to steal the show from Batman because of his over the top personality. Batman is also well played, he tends to emanate fear from him, his eyes in the mask are scary enough. The soundtrack is also great. If you are a Batman fan, this film is good and you should consider watching it. If you arent well this is still an okay film to watch. now just one question...You ever dance with the devil in the pale moon light?

How do I say it? This is one of the best movies ever made. The Joker is freaky and perectly insane. Batman is perfect as the Dark Knight. The 3 sequels were great (yes including the last one idiots what is with you?)hopefully they'll start again. This movie was called The Movie of the Decade which proves how good it is.

Batman is the greatest movie.Tim Burton makes gotham the dirtiest city, the ideal place not to live. From the opening mugging to the the Joker's fall this movie will rivet you to to your seat. Michael Keaton performs with a dark, grim performance and Jack Nicholson puts on a dark, evil, scary, and muderous performance.Buy it!!

This 1989 gem of superhero/comic book films ranks as perhaps the best superhero movie that was ever made (though "Batman Returns" the new "Batman Begins" comes dangerously close). Tim Burton showed how much he respected the Batman character with this film. He gave the film the dark, gothic feel of the comics. The cast is perfect: Michael Keaton was perfectly chosen as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Kim Basinger played a passable Vicki Vale, and Jack Nicholson stole the show as The Joker. He was just awesome. The plot may seem tacky to some (not me), but ignore that and watch the film for the jaw-dropping scenery, dazzling special effects, thrilling action sequences and excellent acting.

This movie rocks, plain and simple. The setting, the actors, the mood, and well... the actors. You got to give Keaton and Nicholson props, they steal the show. Nicholson's performance was probably one the best I have ever seen in the role of antagonist, he was brilliantly bizzare. Keaton was perfect for batman, more so than kilmer and clooney. He just gives the movie a great personality that reminds you why are there! Overall, I applaud Tim Burton, he truly has done a great job making Batman.
