I would recommend 'Behind the Planet of the Apes' for anyone who is a beloved fan of all the 'Apes' films and the TV Series(both live-action and animated) series. This is an excellent documentary that takes a fascinating look at the making of this one-of-a-kind science fiction series that explored religious, social, cultural and political themes, and continues to this very day to be both wildly imaginative and very entertaining at the same time. The late Roddy McDowall was great as the host, because he offered some great insights on the series. Equally interesting were the other interviews with Charlton Heston, Linda Harrison, Natalie Trundy, Ricardo Montalban, James Naughton(from the TV Series),the late Kim Hunter, Producer Mort Abrahams, Art director William Creber, Producer Richard Zanuck, and the directors of three 'Apes' films: Ted Post(Director of 'BENEATH THE'...)Don Taylor(Director of 'ESCAPE FROM'...)and J. Lee Thompson(Director of the last two films,('CONQUEST OF'...), and ('BATTLE FOR'...).
