Travel icon Rudy Maxa emcees the episodes in this documentary set, which provide a uniquely-themed approach to European travel: Maxa uses the geographic epicenters of European music as the chief factor in determining his overall route and his individual destinations. The set begins with Program One, Music Lover's Europe, which finds Maxa trekking from Italy and the Pyrenees of France to Ireland's County Clare, and then up to Norway. In each stop, Rudy surveys the local music and uses it as a backdrop for colorful stories of indigenous life. Program Two, Salzburg and the Lake District, finds Maxa hearkening over to Salzburg, Austria - the hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; he visits the house where Mozart was born and authored his first composition, then journeys into the heart of the Salzkammergut Lake District (the locale of The Sound of Music), tours ice caves in the mountains, and visits various Austrian spa towns. Finally, in Program Three, Vienna and the Danube, Maxa listens to Strauss waltzes and additional Mozart compositions while visiting Schönbrunn Palace, taking carriage rides, and engaging in many other activities deemed uniquely Austrian.
