I grew up watching all the Bewitched in color on WGN, so it was a great pleasure to see all these old, old episodes, in B/W. The plots were simpler than in later seasons, focusing on the difference between the actions and expectations of normal folks (Darrin, the Kravitzes, etc.) and those of the witches (Samantha, Endora, and dear Aunt Clara). Aunt Clara always screws up her spells in an enchanting way, and the first Mrs. Kravitz is also very funny. My favorite episode was the one where Endora (Agnes Moorehead) finally introduced herself to Darrin (Dick York): Trying to discover Sam's maiden name, Darrin asks Endora delicately, and she sniffily replies, "You'll never be able to pronounce it." Priceless. You can't go wrong with this one.

Though the magic makes it special, BEWITCHED is really a comedy about love, family, and tolerance...and a wonderful slice of 60's life.....With a twitch of her nose, Elizabeth Montgomery cast a spell on generations of fans, as Samantha...the suburban house-witch. Dick York "the first and superior Darrin to many hardcore fans" shows off his flair for the double take and slow burn...and the marvelously witchy Agnes Moorehead dons her big wig and her flowing flying suit to make her son-in-law's life utterly miserable. Children and adults take to it equally, so share it with the family.
