Biography: Lucrezia Borgia -- Pretty Poison is a 50-minute A&E biographical portrait of Renaissance patron of the arts and master of political intrigue Lucrezia Borgia. Born the illegitimate daughter of Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia (who would later become Pope Alexander VI), Lucrezia Borgia lived to further her father's political ambitions. After two tumultuous marriages -- the first ended by annulment, the second with the murder of her husband -- Borgia married the Duke d'Este and thereafter became a patron of education and art. The documentary probes many rumors that surrounded her complicated life. Was she engaged in incest with her brothers and father? Was she involved in criminal activity? Did she poison her enemies by piercing them with an "arsenic-drenched" ring?
