Bleach Uncut Box Set: Season 3 - the Rescue 5 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.

Season three is one of the best seasons of Bleach. The Arrancar arc is better in my opinion but season 3 explains the first seasons and sets the stage for what is to come. You can skip a lot of episodes in other seasons and still follow the story but season 3 is essential to understanding the rest of the series. The battles are very epic and entertaining, and the character development is superb. All in all the best of the early seasons.

This is by far the best season in the series. Everything has been raised several notches from season 2. The series becomes much more complex at this point, filled with betrayals, flashbacks, character development, conspiracies, and rising tension as the Soul Society begins to collapse from the inside. It's also quite intricate and thought-provoking, as it's filled to the brim with themes, symbolism, and foreshadowing. The soundtrack is tastefully done with a wide variety of pieces, ranging from electric guitar solos for the fight scenes to piano and violin duets for the quieter moments. Chances are the whole soundtrack will end up on your ipod. Unfortunately, the animation doesn't quite impress on the same level. It's simply far too inconsistent; it ranges from two-frame animation and sloppy drawings to fluid frame rates and beautifully drawn scenes. However, the series animation seems to be above average for the most part. The only other negative aspect of the show is it's attempts at humor. It's either hit or miss, and in all honesty, it usually misses. The worst part is that the animation quality falls drastically during the comedy moments, making for some extremely awkward scenes. Other than the occasional hiccups in the animation and the comedy scenes, however, Bleach is an excellent anime series well worth watching--the third season especially.
