I thought this was another wonderfully done series from British TV. Once again, they excel in character development, plot, and gorgeous scenery from the coast of Britain. I watched it all in two days and am ready for the next season.

Last Summer I really didn't know what to expect, being a Dr. Who fan. David Tennant and Olivia Colman do a wonderful job. As others have said, I was hooked by the first episode. I'm looking forward to Season 2 this spring.

While I find the resolution to series 1 as having been somewhat random and not as well supported as other possible conclusions, I still thought the series haunting, beautiful, psychologically taut, and emblematic of what a sustained television series can do best...develop rich and detailed narratives and characters. Well worth your time to see this series, come to see how the death of a young boy impacts the small coastal community on England's south shore. Final note...though the theme music plays only a short time and recurs episode to episode, it adds to atmosphere of the show, the sometimes dreamlike quality.

This series grabs you from the first episode. The plot has many surprises, and it sucker punches you at the ending. I'll bet you won't see it coming. So good on so many levels. Highly recommend it!!!

"How could you not know?"  Chilling words used in the two last episodes of "Broadchurch" point to its chief appeal--evil taking place in a small English seaside village where everyone knows everyone else.  It seems that idyllic small towns are not what they seem.  With the shocking murder of a 11 year old boy, suspects arise and hidden secrets are exposed.  "Broadchurch" is a brilliant, well-written drama.  The real find for me was Olivia Colman as an empathetic police detective who seems to carry the weight of the town's sorrows on her shoulders.  The DVD set restores the minor cuts that BBC America made to the series to fit American television and adds some extra deleted scenes (one of them explains, finally, how one suspect was absolved).  With a great whodunit and characters you care about, "Broadchurch" made for great television.

there is going to be a second season. Tennant is currently filming an American version of this story for Fox (Gracepoint) and then he will return to the UK to do another series of Broadchurch for ITV this summer.

Had wanted to see this since I heard about it. The mystery is interesting. The music was really good. The two leads are also really good. Location was nice. Good show.

I totally enjoyed this series, but I figured out two episodes into the eight who murdered Danny. Great acting and story line. I wish there would be another season but, one and done. The watcher will be hooked after the first show and will watch the next hour right away.
