Norman Tokar directs David Niven, Helen Hayes, and a young Jodie Foster in the family friendly adventure comedy Candleshoe. This edition of the film is a vast improvement over the original DVD. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and looks a great deal better than the picture on the original DVD release. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono and Spanish subtitles are accessible. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, but this disc is still worthwhile for fans of the film as well as those looking for family-friendly fare.

I've loved this movie since the first time I saw it. This movie just screams late 1970s from the music to the clothes but it works. Jodie Foster is great as the tomboyish main character. Helen Hayes and David Niven are wonderful in their appropriate roles. It's funny but my favorite part about the movie is the house itself, I guess it's my love of old manor houses. A fun story of a treasure hunting adventure that'll keep you hooked until the end. A great family film!
