Pop music legend Carly Simon has been a radio mainstay since bursting on the scene in the early '70s with such confessional hit singles as "That's the Way I Always Heard It Should Be." Simon has also dabbled in standards from time to time over the past few decades, most recently on her superb 2005 CD, Moonlight Serenade. This concert DVD finds her reinterpreting such standards as "I Only Have Eyes for You" and "I've Got You Under My Skin" in a perfectly matched venue, the ocean liner Queen Mary II. In addition to showcasing these and more standards from the CD, the singer-songwriter reaches into her own songbook for ballroom versions of "Nobody Does It Better," "Let the River Run," and others. In addition to the 15-song set with a backing band, Simon goes acoustic for 5 numbers, including renditions of "Anticipation," "Boys in the Trees," and "It Was So Easy." DVD extras include Simon's music video for the holiday favorite "Let It Snow," a photo gallery, and behind-the-scenes footage.
