Crimson Code is a B-rate thriller starring C. Thomas Howell (Soul Man) as a vicious criminal and Patrick Muldoon (Starship Troopers) as an FBI agent on the case. Presented in a full-frame edition from Artisan, Crimson Code's transfer is decent if a bit disappointing. Most of the images are clean and clear with only a small amount of dirt or defects present. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and sounds distortion-free. Though a bit weak when it comes to full surround sound, this is an even mix of effects, dialogue, and music. No subtitles are included on this disc. Crimson Code features a few scant extra features, though "fans" of the movie will delight in a commentary track by director Jeremy Haft. While the director tends to state the painfully obvious ("Here we start with the opening credits..."), the track is informative and moderately interesting. Also included on this disc are some talent files as well as a trailer for the film. If B-grade thrillers are your cup of tea, then by all means you'll want to drink up this edition of Crimson Code.
