The Ruhr Piano Festival mounted this classical music event in 2010, with performances by The Staatskapelle Berlin and solo pianist Daniel Barenboim, and conducting by Andris Nelsons. It was mounted, in part, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederic Chopin. Selections include "Symphony in E minor, Hob. 1/44 'Mourning'" (Haydn), "Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21" (Chopin), "Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 11" (Chopin), and "Valse brillante in A minor, Op. 34/2" (Chopin).
