I bought this not really knowing much about Denise Austin other than she has her own show on the Lifetime network. I enjoy that it has cardio plus strength training and that you can set which workouts you want to do before you begin. One thing I didn't enjoy about this video was that I felt like she wasn't very prepared and seemed to almost make it up as she went. Some times she will say to do one thing and ends up doing another or that there is "One more time" and end up doing it 2 or 3 more. Sometimes her back up people seemed confused as well and are each doing there own thing waiting for her instruction. I also didn't like that in one section of the cardio Denise and the other people are not in tempo with the music which is difficult to follow in dancing.
I did not like this one at all. I thought that it was a waste of money. It was kinda of boring. I thought that throught out each section there was going to be new moves but all she does is the same thing over and over again.
The DVD includes a 20 min. cardio session, 20 minute sculpting section with weights, a 5 min. warm-up and 5 min. cooldown. The Menu lets you choose each section separately or choose combinations. In the sculpting section you'll work upper body and lower body at the same time with some very effective exercises. There's about 15 min. of upper/lower body and about 5 min. of abs. I can't comment on the cardio because I only do the warm-up+strength+stretch. Denise's cuing isn't the greatest but the workout is easy to follow. The setting is nice: a bright airy room with a view of a lake.
