Depeche Mode brings down the house in the DVD release Depeche Mode: One Night in Paris. This 16 x 9 anamorphic widescreen transfer looks very nice, sporting vivid colors and vivid black levels. While the quality may not reach reference level (this is, after all, a concert), this is a solid presentation of the group's music. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and is very full and bombastic. With swirling music all around the viewer (including the use of both the front and rear speakers), this soundtrack should please fans who are yearning for a lot of music for the buck. No alternate soundtracks or subtitles are included on this disc. The extra features on this disc include: three making-of featurettes ("The Preparing," "The Waiting," "The Talking") sporting interviews with the group, crew, and fans; additional footage from the concert; an extra song; a multi-angle presentation; a still gallery of photos from the show; and a collectable booklet with some photos of the band.
