While this movie is not quite as good as the original exorcist is far superior to any of the other sequels/ prequels. The reason the story is the same as exorcist the beginning is because the studio made this one, didn't like it as much and made the other one using the same actors and same storyline. That being said though they are not the same movie, where exorcist the beginning is a more straight forward horror story dominion is more psychological. It's more artsy, it plays more on the idea of good and evil with in man insead of completely devil did it. And while the stories of the two films are similar they are not the same, for one thing the endings are very different. The ending of exorcist the beginning was obviously tacted on to surprise the audience even if it did leave plot holes. The ending of this film however works, and makes sense.

When buying this I didn't know that this would be the same thing as "Exorcist: The Beginning". Like everything that happens in that movie happens in this one. I was disappointed that this movie didn't have a different story line because I love any Exoricist movie, but not really this one.
