Warner Brothers has assembled a solid if frill-free disc for this horror catalog favorite. This disc of Dr. Giggles benefits from a handsome looking anamorphic transfer that offers rich black levels, strong colors and plenty of vivid detail. It's interesting to note that the screen ratio for this transfer is approximately 1.78:1 as opposed to the 2.35:1 ratio of the original theatrical release. That said, Dr. Giggles was shot in Super-35 so this means that the viewer is actually getting more picture information on top and bottom and losing nothing on the sides.. The Dolby 2.0 stereo mix isn't as active as a modern mix but it delivers a clear blend of sounds. Sadly, there are no extras to speak of and, like a lot of films from Warner Brothers' "Twisted Terror" collection, it doesn't even have a chapter menu. Thus, the lack of features is disappointing but this still a quality transfer and well worth the time for fans of the film.
