I am very dissapointed about the reviews this film received, this was an excellent film and unfortunately too many people misunderstood how great it is. First, Ashley Judd's performance was outstanding, it is easy to get caught up in how beautiful she is and not really see how well she performed, but seeing the film multiple times, her performance still stood out. Second, the film is beautifully filmed, it was obvious that camera placement, vibrant scenes, and sound tracking were carefully mapped out for every scene. I have not seen such beautiful cinematography since Mansfield Park (see that too!!). Finally, I recommend this film to any one who has lost a loved one in their life.

It was necessary for me to view this movie a second time to really understand it. Some movies are like that! Stir up a few new brain cells folks and you'll be glad you did. Watts is not my favorite but McGregor is one of the very best actors today.

Warning!!!! This is the most horribly scripted movie I ever saw. The movie is just about a guy stalking this one girl. He originally was spying on her to turn her into the cops, but he starts to fall in love with her. The girl turns out to be killer and he starts protecting her. This movie also shows skin every other 5 minutes. It was so boring. It felt like it would never end. I would recommend anyone to get any other movie besides this one. This is not a thrilling or exciting movie and absolutely not a family movie either. It was also very confusing and difficult to understand what was going on. I do not recommend this movie to anyone of any age. This was the worst movie I ever saw and will never forget it because it was so bad. I would give this a negative 100 stars if I could.

After seeing this movie for the first time, I was hooked. Before seeing this film, I already knew I would love it because I am a complete fan of Ewan McGregor. His acting is spectacular. (Not to mention he looks great in it as well!) It actually is one of those movies you have to see a couple of times to actually get it. It definitely has a twist at the end. It wasn't until my 6th time seeing it that I actually was able to put the pieces together. After seeing this movie I couldn't quit watching it. It's addictive. I'm beginning to become as obsessed as Ewan is in the movie!

I admit I was skeptical at first. I thought this movie would be another cheesy action flick. I was happily surprised to discover an intelligent film. An unexpected, albeit one-sided, romance springs up halfway through the movie. Nice touch

I'm not sure what ''intelligent'' movie the Barnes & Noble.com reviewer was watching, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't this one. The attempt at noir here is completely mishandled, and Judd's character remains flat and without true motivation throughout the entire film. She's not mysterious; she's simply horribly defined. Macgregor's character receives the same sort of slapdash ''motivation'' for his actions, and while the film fails to show Judd really reacting or changing due to the action in the film, we get to follow Macgregor's decent into ''madness.'' Great. If you think most of the movie stinks, wait until you get to the ending. Ouch.

This movie can easily fool you into thinking its worth watching based solely upon the cast. WARNING...if you choose to view this movie, you will be wasting 2 hours of your life, as well as hard earned cash!

Within 15 min. of most movies,I already know the ending. The combining of two crippled souls precluded this. The ending was not your usual Hollywood fare, with a happy walk into the sunset. It made me think, and it's not for the bottom of the bell curve. I am tired of dummying down to 6th grade programming.I speak of realism, good things happen to bad people and vice versa. Good movies should reflect life in the raw.

This is one of the best movies of it's kind. Ashley Judd is superb as always, and in her subsequent movies, I can only say she proves again and again just how superb an actor she is. What I would like to know is who sang the song, ''I Wish You Love,'' in this movie. Thanks

This movie was based on a novel. I have never read that novel or even heard of it. When I chose this movie it was just a random pick. The movie had good acting and realism, but it was very confusing. The plot didn't make any sense to me because it seemed that it was missing some scenes. The ending also really didn't make sense because I didn't understand why events were happening in the beginning of the movie. I recommend this movie to people that have read the novel ''Eye of the Beholder''. I gave the movie ¿Eye of the Beholder¿ two stars because it should have explained the plot better, so people that haven¿t read the book can understand the movie.

Should anyone watch this movie without any benefit of research, will find this movie lacking a few key scenes. Rewinding it to catch what is going on may help but it is difficult. You are left wondering just exactly what was going on in the editing room. Basic things like what was the ''Eye'' doing before watching ''Joanna'' and who ''Joanna'' was before she started being watched. Since this movie was suggested to me by a friend, I had no key knowledge of the background of the events and characters. However, having researched this movie through barnes and noble.com I now understand some key parts of the movie that were sadly lacking. So if you watch this movie, be sure to read the cover or at least do some research here first.aquaswan
