For those interested, the KOCH Vision release of Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre arrives on 9/2/08. The 26 Classic Live Action shows are accompanied by "the missing" episode entitled "The Best Moments of Faerie Tale Theatre", but more commonly known as "Grimm Party".

All episodes have been digitally restored and the 7 disk collection also includes a 112-page book developed from original production notes representing short-story versions of all of the tales. This book includes an introduction by series producer Bridgette Terry.

Additionally, the set includes a multi-game game based on a deck of cards. Memory Match and Faerie Tale Theatre trivia can be played along with any standard card game one can think of, thus adding incredible dimension to the purchase...

27 episodes + 112 pages of bedtime reading + hours and hours of family game play....WOW...

This set is the one fans have been waiting for and my kudos to KOCH for putting it all together!!!!

By the way...the absolutely stunning box includes a gold-foil-stamped castle on the front.

I won't get into the content here, for the content is undeniably fantastic and everyone knows that. This is an incredible collection for young and old alike.

It's a faerie tale come true!!

These are our absolute all-time favorite videos. I can't say enough about how much our whole family enjoys these fairy tales brought to life with the most talented actors portraying these sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes just plain entertaining little fairy tale characters. Among our favorites are The Three Little Pigs and The Snow Queen. I used to rent these almost every weekend when they were on VHS when our daughters were very young. They would beg to watch them and the little comments that were made by the actors were sometimes only comments that the adults watching would catch the meaning of that would make them more enjoyable and humourous for us while watching as well.

We used to borrow these from the library every weekend. I think our all time faves were the Boy Who Left Home to Find Out the Shivers and The Three Little Pigs.

I appreciate Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre so much more now than I did when I was younger. When I was younger, I wanted long, epic faerie tale stories with lots of swashbuckling and romance; there never seemed quite enough to the Faerie Tale Theatre episodes to satisfy me. But now, they're the perfect length to enjoy when I want a quick dose of faerie tales, and I'm able to appreciate the sets and the music and the costumes in a way I couldn't before. The scripts are handled so cleverly too, each careful to preserve the essence of the faerie tale without becoming too intense or going too long. These are such fun to watch!
