Family Guy is the show that keeps me going everyday. Without this television show, I probably would've killed myself by now. If you don't watch this show, then you might as well just become a Jehovahs Witness, because you have nothing else to live for.

Isn't it funny how this show didn't get such great ratings, yet the Monica Lewinsky show will prolly set records for viewership in its first week. But I digress. This has to be one of the most clever, funniest shows I have seen in a long, long time. The jokes themselves could carry it, but what I liked most about it is the way that the viewer really has no idea what will happen next. The commentaries are sometimes as funny as the show itself (the DVDs I just got, not every episode has its own commentary, which is why I had to take away a star). I can't wait for the other episodes to come out on DVD.

I just bought the Family Guy DVD's and boy did i laugh. It's the funniest show i have ever seen better then the simpsons and That's 70' Show. THEY BETTER BRING IT BACK ON THE AIR AND MAKE MORE EPISODES

The Simpsons may have longevity, but no prime time cartoon can possibly beat the intelligent and witty, yet way overboard humor of Family Guy. I am still shocked that this show went off the air so quickly. I guess I really AM more intelligent than 90% of the country. It's content must go over everyone's heads.... sell seasons 3 & 4, and please come back for season 5!!!!

Family Guy is way better than the Simpsons. If you buy this box set, watch the first episode first. That'll set the standard for all the other ones. The Simpsons never had the consistency of funniness from episode to episode as well as Family Guy hilariously does.

The truth: The Family Guy was, and now in DVD form is, the funniest cartoon ever produced. It is a shame that it just lasted for a few seasons, but now that I see the decadence of long-running series like The Simpsons, I'm glad that at least The Family Guy made three solid and classic seasons. All the episodes are good. They are brash, daring, irreverent, creative, intelligent, funny, they have everything you want, or need, to just laugh and have an entertaining half hour. I highly recommend The Family Guy, or else I wouldn't have spent these few minutes writing so.

From the minute I first saw Family Guy, I was like WOW THIS IS FUNNY! Unlike the simpsons family guy started hilarous and none of the episodes I saw didn't make me laugh at least 3 times.Im a Family Guy fan it was awesome untill they put it off the air, then i just went back to watching more simpsons. I want you people who read this to know Family Guy was the funniest show on tv ever. If I could I would put it back on the air.

Funny and hilarious the best comedy in a long time. The Simpson have pasted their prime. Just let family guy take over. You will enjoy ever second of the show.

When this series first came out I didn't like it at all. I found it crass & just pointless. After watching the whole first season I realised that it was the sick kind of humor that I like. Cutting edge & new presented in cartoon form. Brilliant! You really have to wonder what the station was thining when it opted to cancel the show not once but twice! Now Mcfarlane is top of the class. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a great horse laugh.

This show is pretty funny with some interesting but weird episodes. Though Peter is the funniest character ever created similar to Homer.

Family guy was unreasonably taken off the air. This show was gold, mind you, there are very VERY funny parts but the are ussually are at someones expense. Thos who watch it will agree. There were alternatioves to taking it off and replacing it with stupid reality TV shows like temptation island and married by america. This show owns. Plain and simple. Oh, and to those who argue that the simpsons is better, Think about all the advantages it had! I garuntee that had the simpsons spawned around the same time peter and the family did then they wouldn't have lasted, In fact the only reason they still hold on today is because they have tons of seasons under their belt. Buy this DvD, You'll agree with me when your done watching.

When my fiance first started watching Family Guy in front of me, I was a little dumbstruck - not to mention convinced the show was evil. And yet, the more I watched it, the more I began to appreciate it. There are still times when I find it 'wrong, wrong, dirty and wrong,' but I really enjoy it now. The final straw that convinced me: a random Quantum Leap joke in the episode where Meg's nerdy boy nemesis tries everything to make her fall in love with him. I'm actually hooked now, much to my surprise. (Says the girl who saw Beavis and Butt-head Do America in the theatre.) Oh, and fellow fans: This DVD series has been so successful that Fox is considering ordering NEW episodes!

This DVD set was so much fun to watch with my friends. I still never get tired of it, because their is so many episodes. The third season is deffinetly better though, so get that one first, not saying that this is bad though.

This DVD captures the hilarity of the most inventive series to come to TV in years. Barring the Simpsons, Family Guy has brought to light some of our best & worst instincts better than any other show on network and/or cable.

Doesn't anyone remember when the Simpsons used to offend everyone in the same way that Family Guy alledgedly did. I can never tire of watching the Griffins, whereas I hardly watch the Simpsons anymore except episodes from their first 3 seasons (They stopped being edgy after that, in my opinion)I wouldn't mind being a character in the show if it was ever brought back. Peter, Lois, Chris, Meg, Stewie, and Brian, YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!

I think pretty much everyone had heard of Family Guy, even if you haven't seen it. It's a great show that is gauranteed to crack you up. Sure, it pokes fun at Catholics, Jews, and Southerners (just to name a few), but this is a fun show- it's nothing personal. I'm Catholic and from the South, and I don't think there's anything truly offensive in this show. It's so funny, irreverant, and quirky! I love it! BUY IT TODAY!

This show, is plain and simply, histarical. If you buy this, I garentee you will laugh your bum off. Even the SIMPSONS, has no comparison. But anyways, this disc has seasons one and two on a few DVDs, with the cut scenes (which were to inapropriate for TV)... those are purely hillarious. I highly reccomend this for you Family guy fans (like me).

People treated this show like the bast@rd son of Matt Groening, accusing the creators of following the working class nuclear family formula of the Simpsons. Aside from the fact that this formula goes back to the days of The Honeymooners, Seth McFarlane and his team created an entirely different world, and argueably catalyzed into popular humor a new wave of fast, witty, sometimes esoteric- but always hilarious comedy. They took chances, laughed at racism, homophobia, terrorism, religion, and even when you didn't get the joke you laughed. Their following of what appeared at first to be just a Freaks and Geeks band of TV junkies, spread the good news of Peter Griffin and his antics and the world is a better and funnier place for it.

The Family Guy is the funniest. The Simpson's are great but the Griffin's get to do are the gross humor that the Simpson's only dream of. This is a must buy for any lover of The Simpsons, South Park, or The Oblongs!!!

Out of all types of shows, my favorite is comedy. I live for funny, as do many people. I have been a loyal Simpsons watcher my whole short 14-year-old life, even the re-runs I religiously watch each night. I love the subliminal humor and how they poke at other programs and celebraties, but Family Guy is much funnier. Although the Simpsons is the greatest show ever, Family Guy is the funniest(with the possible exception of South Park). It's wonderful humor and blunt interpretations of everyday life will have you in stitches. Family Guy will have you laughing for more than half of the episode, guaranteed.

First, I have to clear up some (well, one big) misconception that is currently plaguing the reviews posted here so far. FAMILY GUY IS NOT A BETTER SHOW THAN THE SIMPSONS. Simply put, there is no single show on television today or in the recent past that has been as purely hysterical (not to mention consistently hysterical for such a long time without becoming stale) as The Simsons has during its tenure on the air. Comparing anything to The Simpsons is simply not fair (unless you reach back in your history books and pull some of the old greats). I just could not sit here and read these reviews filled with poor grammar and obvious ignorance to true comedy that constantly bash the greatest show on TV and not say anything. That said, Family Guy is certainly a brilliant show. Not for the faint of heart or sticklers to political correctness. I watched this show maniacally during its run (its unfortunately short run) and laughed for at least 15 of the 22 minutes of show every single episode. The jokes are hilarious and uncommmonly high brow (though there is plenty of low brow hilarity, don't worry) and the casting (Adam West playing himself!) is truly truly inspired. Nobody should pass up the chance to own this DVD, nobody.
