It has been two years since the events that occurred in the storyline of the video game, and though the ruins of Midger still stand to show the sacrifices made for peace, a new threat to mankind has arrived. This excellent action movie takes place were the game left off. Easy to follow and remarkably realistic. A must for all Final Fantasy and video game fans alike. Highly recommended.

I have to start with: Why couldn't this have been out first? This Final Fantasy installment is EPIC in all sense of the word. After two Final Fantasy movies, the first (Spirits Within) being a complete failure, the second (Advent Children) being much better, though with room for improvement, here in Advent Children Complete we have a complete storyline and plot-rich epic movie with all of our favorite Final Fantasy 7 characters out there and in more action than before. With Complete, many of the things seen in the original version is explained fully, especially referring to exactly how Sephiroth could have possibly been reborn for another reunion. I'm going to refrain from sharing details about the epic final battle, because it's too epic to spoil it. You have to watch it for yourself! This is worth the money and it's a 100% must-see!

Taking place two years after the game final fantasy VII advent children (an 1hr and 40mins) does a great job taking you back to a game that's 40 hours long. I have an imported version of the movie with only subtitles... but still amazing visually and story wise. I would forsure pick up the US version.

I wasn't sure if I rent this movie or another one, in the end I got this one...I made the right dissison!!! I had heard of Final Fantasy before and wasn't sure what it was about...after seeing this movie I so want to play this game!!! I think Cloud and Tifa are a cute couple! If there not a couple they should be!!! I had NO idea what was happening a some points in the movie... This year I made a new friend who LOVES Final Fantasy! She told me all about Final Fantasy.

When I got this DVD, I took it to school because I promised my friend that I will show her something that I'm sure she'll like. When we watched it using tha laptop in our every lunch time...she was like, OH MY GOSH!!! I told her " See, I told u...". The game, the anime and the movie matches perfectly. I promise if you watch this DVD, you'll hold your breath. There's a lot of action...and the plots are incredible...all the cnaracters look good...it's awesome

Although I like anime, I don't play video games, so it was hard to follow the plot, but this was the most visually stunning movie I have ever seen. It just LOOKS awesome -- the animation is terrific, the characters are beautiful, and the fight scenes are just incredible in their creativity and choreography. It's worth all five stars just for that.

dissapointing. everyone said this movie was SOOOO great, and dont get me wrong, im an avid final fantasy lover, but this movie just didnt do it for me. its too hard to understand for those of you who havent played ff7, and a lot of the characters appeared very flat. there were way to many cool fight scenes, and not enough story. the animation was great, but the dubbing TERRIBLE! it was okay for the first, like, 35 minutes, but then the last 55 or so was just one big long fight scene! and the MUSIC! did they TRY to make it not fit the scenes at all!!?? theres one scene where the music is intense because its a big fight scene, but then cloud gets stabed and the music turns to this little cheery jingly music! overall its definately a rent, not a buy.

I loved the movie, it was very neat, the grafic art was sweet. I never played the games before, but I read about all the final fantasy info. I understand the movie. Sooo, I guess I am a fan. I need to get the games! I liked every Character. It's sweet. The Funny thing was that one Tifa and Loz were fighing, the music did not match the part. But hey what can I say Tifa rock,s, it was a good fight. Reno and Rude were funny!!! ^,^

i'm twenty two years old and a big fan of the video game. I watched this last night and almost fell asleep. The animation is breathtaking and the action sequences were non-stop. But voices, scenerios, and dialog were realy childish and pointless. But on a brighter note, the special features which one included almost all film strip scenes from the video game including the ending, were awsome.

Square-Enix has had a heck of a year In 2006 alone, they have completed the instant hit Kingdom Hearts II (PS2), re-released Final Fantasy IV for the Gameboy Advance system, will soon release Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus (PS2) and Final Fantasy XII (PS2). Furthermore, we can expect more upcoming games from them in the years to come, such Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the upcoming-hit Playstation3 due to arrive in stores November 17 (unless it is once again delayed). However, games apparently aren't their only form of expertise. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a continuation of the smash hit Playstation game, Final Fantasy VII, the first 3D installment of the Final Fantasy Series. The film's CGI is elite in it's form, and it's animation alone has the potential to leave such classics like "Shrek", "Toy-Story" and "Ice-Age" completely in the dust of it's amazing digital-exertion. Using this same animation style as the infamous Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, it may have proved to be "somewhat" inspiring, but in the end, not even worthy of achieving the title "Cult-Classic." The movie alone nearly forced Square-Enix into Bankruptcy, however, the company was given yet another chance at the hands of Warnerbrothers. When offered a role in "The Matrix," spin-off movie, "The Animatrix" Square-Enix was able to land back on their feet, with enough money to punch out a few more games, and sure enough, to begin production of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The general (and simple) synopsis of the story is that Cloud Strife, (the protagonist of the pinnacle of modern-day games) is given a message from a woman, which comes in the form of children. (Hence the title of the film) However, for those who have never played the game, the movie may only prove to be completely confusing, and maybe even unsatisfying. The fight scenes (as entertaining as they are) last nearly forever and may also appear constant, and the English dubbing could probably use a little bit of work (though some characters, such as Vincent, Marlene and Sephiroth were actually somewhat decent). Naturally, though, The Japanese track contains professional voice work, seems more believable, and—of course—the lip-movements match. From a literary perspective, plot is something of a classic hero's story—the common scenario of "rising up from the ashes." Extras on the DVD include a director's commentary, a reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII (a great help for those who haven't plaid the game, yet at the same time, seek enlightenment) sneak peaks into even more upcoming Final Fantasy VII games, a making up featurette featuring interviews with Testuya Nomura, footage from the Venice Film Festival, and nearly twenty deleted scenes. For many Final Fantasy VII fans, this movie may prove to be a dream come true, but for people who have a tendency to get very confused, biased individuals who tend to hate anime or find it childish (which this movie sometimes shows great resemblance to when it comes to the combat and action scenes) or anyone who has second thoughts about this movie, some would recommend that probably wouldn't risk your money on this, but with an open-mind and a willing attitude, who knows… you "might" be impressed.
