WATCH WITH AN OPEN HEART AND MIND. BELIEVE IN FAITH INSTEAD OF WHAT YOU CAN SEE AND FEEL

This story captures our emotions and common sense as a man comes to grips with his humanity, pride, and priorities. You'll cry and laugh, despise and respect the human element as well as the tramnsforming faith of a man and his family. The drama seem real, as mostly amatuer actors put together a very believable movie that will inspire us all.

The nice thing about the director's cut is that right away they let you know the movie was made for about $23,000 and the production "film quality" is on the lowside. Also, keep in mind this movie was originally intentionally made for a church, but word got out and the movie became very popular. But, besides that the film is really good. It shows how someone who has hit the low part of their life can turn themselves around and become a trustworthy person again. Jay Austen is a man who owns a used car lot. All he wants to do is make money to keep his family afloat, but his cheap standards "over pricing vehicles" are hurting everyone. He neglects his son, and fights regularly with his wife, until both son and spouse can't stand him. It does tend to go into faith very strongly at one point, almost to quickly. It seems there could be a slighter buildup to the character "Jay" deciding that faith is what he really needs. Though this scene shouldn't be a deterent because the movie is really good. Once Jay decides to become more truthful to his family, job and customers, the true power of faith is revealed. This company has also made the slightly better movie "Facing the Giants". The special features for this dvd are really good. They include: 3 deleted scenes - only one of these scenes gives a bit of information that should have been included in the film bloopers and outakes commentary making of... and TV spots.

Although this movie was intended as a local outreach and for a church, it made the rounds nationwide. While the production quality is not as good as Facing the Giants or Fireproof, this story is still worth watching. Jay Austin, a dishonest car salesman, overcharges the minister of his church for a used car. When Reverend Michaels prays, "And Lord, I want You to treat Jay exactly like he's treated me today," Jay's eyes pop open. At that point, Jay is under heavy conviction and starts thinking seriously about his life. He knows he's lost the respect of his wife and son, and it's interesting to watch the steps Jay takes to come to the Lord and reclaim his wife and son. I recommend this movie for anyone's personal library.
