This film definitely focuses on Shelley's novel. It's very well made and is capable of being extremely enjoyable.

Finally a film version that is close to the book. Not a cheesy horror film, this Frankenstein understands the point of the book. I was surprised at the quality for a film made for T.V.

While this is not a movie that plays into the pop culture view of Frankenstein's creature, it definitely deviates from the text of the novel. There are some changes made that don't make sense in light of the true text nor do they really convey the plight of the creature in his journey to discover love and understaning. While this IS a decent version of the movie, and one that can be used in class in conjunction with the novel, it is still lacking in its translation from text to screen.
