I first saw "Gospel" many years ago, and still try to find an excuse to pop it into the machine and watch it again. The second song, "Walk Around Heaven All Day", looks to be the highlight of the film, and how can they top it? Well, the movie keeps going on that high note: the Mighty Clouds of Joy soloist dancing with a woman who "Came To Jesus" Shirley Caesar re-enacting the crucifixion in "No Charge" Tramaine Hawkins belting out "He Brought Me" the Hawkins Family and choir rocking the house with "Right On", and it's clear they went for more than 10 minutes the Clark Sisters boldly declaring "No! It's not all in vain" James Cleveland inviting the audience to get their praise on, but "make sure you got your money" the drummer who just wouldn't leave. The film tries hard to capture the atmosphere of black gospel, putting the viewer in the middle of it all, and they succeed. No gimmicks here, none needed. Simply put: you MUST get this movie!!!

I remember being present at this wonderful concert at the age of ten. It was the most exciting experience I had at such a tender age. I'll never forget the wonderful, powerful, and spiritual singers. The Dynamic Clark Sisters where truly amazing, as were James Cleavland, Shirley Ceaser, The mighty Clouds of Joy, and Walter Hawkins, the Hawkins Family and Daryl Coley, and the Love center Choir of Oakland California. This Recording is a "Must Have"!
