I bought this Gumby DVD with much anticipation since it had many of the classic Gumby episodes I cherished from my youth. However, the music has been majorally altered and so, for me, the whole DVD was a big let-down since it lacked the flow and feel of the Gumby episodes I remembered. Rhino should have left well enough alone!

I AM ONLY 14 NOW,BUT WHEN I WAS GRWING UP I LOVED GUMBY.HE WOULD BE ON EARLY IN THE MORNING.THEN I STOPED SEEING HIS EPISODES. I WSA MAD BECAUSE ALL THE GOOD SHOWS GET TAKEN OFF THE AIR. GUMBY ALEAYS HAD GREAT ADVENTURES.THERE WAS ONE WHEN HE WENT IN, I THINK IT WAS TO LAND AND HIS SISTER GOT LOST, I CANT REMEMBERIT WAS ALOND TIME SINCE I SEEN A GUMBY EPISODE. I WANT TO GET ALL OF HIS EPISODES SOME DAY.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but....sorry, I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. My memory just ain't that good. So, for me, it was just like seeing the original Gumby all over again. In addition, my 6 year old loved it. There are quite a few episodes on the disc, a lot for the money. It's surreal -- love the 'Bakery' episodes! Younger viewers will see the inspiration for SNLs 'Mr. Bill' (let's set aside Eddie Murphy's Gumby for a moment, ok?) and a thousand other claymation 'toons. Gumby and his friends get flattened and reshaped with regularity, but are none the worse for wear in the end. All done, though, with an underlying gentleness and caring that is not very common in today's edgier children's entertainment. Lots of cool old toys to look at, too. Highly recommended.
