The Haunted Castle is a 1921 silent classic.

"In the castle Vogeloed, a few aristocrats are awaiting baroness Safferstätt. But first count Oetsch invites himself.. Everyone thinks he murdered his brother, baroness Safferstat's first husband, three years ago. So he is rather undesirable. But Oetsch stays; arguing he is not the murderer and will find the real one."

This movie has a lot of potential, but it wasn't very interesting as Wolf Blood was. The lighting and visual quality wasn't as good either. But, this is a silent movie, not too much can be expected.

Now, Wolf Blood was very interesting.

"Dick Bannister is the boss of a Canadian logging crew during a time when conflicts with a rival company have turned bloody, like a private war. His boss, a woman, comes to inspect the lumberjack camp, bringing her doctor fiancee with her. Dick is attacked by his rivals and left for dead. His loss of blood is so great that he needs a transfusion, but no human will volunteer, so the surgeon uses a wolf as a source of the blood. Afterwards, Dick begins having dreams where he runs with a pack of phantom wolves, and the rival loggers get killed by wolves. Soon, these facts have spread through the camp and most of the lumberjacks decide that Dick is a werewolf."

This visual quality is pretty good, and this movie will definitely keep your attention. It's known as possibly the first ever werewolf movie ever. It's way ahead of it's time, since it was made in 1925.

I give this dvd a 8 out of 10. This dvd is fairy cheap, and worth every penny. This movie is worth buying simply to get a look at horror film history. It's also very entertaining if you like silent movies.
