I am not a person who enjoys working out. I have also never watched Biggest Loser (although I may start). One day, however, I realized that I was getting a little older and out of breath a little easier....that the padding around my hips could add on a bit more quickly than it used to. The gym is kind of unrealistic for me as I have two pre-school children and to pay for the membership PLUS the babysitting would be a bit much. Oh...and I don't like working out anyways so by the time I would get everyone ready to go I probably would have talked myself out of it.

When I saw that this was 20 minutes and less than $20 to buy (plus came with some pretty good reviews) I thought it was a fair enough risk to take.
I'm 2 weeks in now and have to say this is an ideal workout for me.
It's quick - the kids either hop along beside me or can find something else to do.
It's effective - my body is indeed changing as is my attitude about eating and just staying healthy.
It's fast paced - I love yoga, but all the time I spend moving slowly and close to the ground is like an invitation for my kids to crawl all over me. They can't catch me with this one!
The requirements are low - we have very limited 'living' space on our condo but that hasn't deterred me a bit. A bit of floorspace and some small weights are all you need.

Jillian is direct and rather motivational...and when she tells you that the 20 minutes of hard work is worth it, she isn't kidding. Definitely an investment I would encourage.

I am 32 years old and struggle with high blood pressure and I'm over weight about 50 lbs because I'm only 5 feet 2 inches. My doctor recommended for me to start exercising or I would have to be on the high blood pressure pill. I had a baby 2 yrs ago and I've been too lazy to work out lying to myself that the baby weight would eventually come off. Nope....still got those baby weights. So I went and did some research and bought this DVD just to try it out because I heard it's only 20 minutes of workout and that includes warm up and cool down. At first I was really skeptical about this DVD. Thinking how can this work? Will it be too hard for me since I NEVER exercise? At first, it was hard for a beginner. The cardio moves was too hard for me to keep up. So I did slow down and got a drink of water. So for the first day, I could not do the full 20 minutes. I woke up feeling my legs and arms burn so badly I could not walk up the stairs at work. I haven't had this feeling for a looonnnng time and I must be nuts but I felt great knowing it works!!! So I gave it another go 2 days later. This time....(ha!) I did the entire video including the cardio and I sweat like crazy!! I really did feel great! After 2 weeks into this video (it's not a miracle DVD so I had to eat right too) I lost a total of 6 lbs and noticed my clothes feels better. I went and bought her other DVD's too. Now I alternate between her No more Trouble Zone when I don't feel like doing so much Cardio to this one. I lost a total of 20lbs in 2 months and my abs and arms looks great. It's only March, I'm confident that if I keep this up, I will at least feel great by summer!!! So for someone who cannot afford the gym (Like me) who also has a toddler at home (like me) who never exercised before (like me) who wants to do a short intense workout (like me) who wants to see results fast (like me).....I strongly recommend this DVD!!! I hope this helps you since it helped me!!!

I lost 25 lbs.! The first day I did the beginning workout, I thought, "I can never do this," but before I knew it I was doing the advanced level (not easy). It is a 20 min. workout, but it is like a 3 hr. workout at the gym. You will be sore, and you will have a love/hate relationship with Jillian, but as she says she, "gets results." If you never ever exercise, I would suggest you start slow, and even if you regularly exercise, get ready to be challenged. In case you're wondering, Jillian is WAY nicer on this video than on the show-you won't get cussed out! LOL...Seriously, I highly recommend it. You will lose weight and inches!

Definitely a challenge, definitely a work-out. I'm looking to lose weight seriously, and I can so see this helping out. Remember to drink plenty of water before starting - you'll be sweating by the end!

But I agree with some other posters: If you have bad joints or are really overweight, be careful! My knees need work, and while I see this video helping, I also have to adjust even the "easy" to me not want to collapse in the middle.

I work out regularly doing a variety of aerobic activities. This DVD was intense for a frequent exerciser. I love feeling like I've gotten a great workout in 20 minutes. I tried Level 2, out of curiosity, and I thought some of the exercises were a little too advanced. They aren't bad, but I had scoliosis surgery and can't do a lot of the moves. I don't mind sticking to the first level and modifying the other levels.

This is a great workout video I can do at home. The circuit training is challenging. I do have to turn the volume down when my kids are in the room because she swears.

I currently go to high impact cardio classes 4 days a week and needed something different to change up the routine. I did a lot of research and found that this DVD had lots of great reviews. I was so impressed! It is fast paced and kept me very engaged. And, it is tough enough for someone who works out on a consistent basis.

This video is a great workout. It's not easy by any stretch of the imagination, and works great for my post-partum workouts bc it's only 20 intense minutes (baby's nap). WAY too intense to do the first few months after a baby though, just FYI. Take the 30 day challenge, you won't regret it!

We tried this exercise video and immediately felt the difference. I was somewhat skeptical that 20 minutes could produce results, but it truly has helped us to become healthier! GREAT VIDEO....Highly recommend it!

I was excited when I started and continued to do the exercises everyday for about 2 weeks. I noticed that I gained endurance and my arms became a little more defined BUT after 2 weeks my knees couldn't take it. She has a simplified routine for low impact on the knees but even then my knees still hurt. If you haven't exercised in a while, this can be hard to keep up with at first, and if you have knee and joint problems, I wouldn't recommend this at all.

What appealed to me first of all was this is a 20 minute workout. I have a really bizarre schedule and was finding it hard to fit exercise time in. With Jillian's 30 Day Shred that excuse has gone out the door!! Plus she works the abs, cardio and strength training all in one great workout. This is a great tool not only for women but men, too, believe me you will sweat, get your heart rate up, and feel great with the 30 Day Shred.

I viewed the workout first and understood how challenging it would be. I start with Bob Harpers "Weight Loss Yoga" DVD and then do Jillian's workout. I find my muscles are warmed up and ready to go. Jillian's instructions are easy to follow and I like her 3-2-1 method. In 20 minutes, my body has been challenged from top to bottom. If you haven't worked out in years, go ahead and walk through the DVD: it's better to move than not. I hight recommend this workout and have ordered more of her workout DVD's. I will continue to use them in conjunction with Bob Harper's workouts.

I work full time and go to school part time, so fitting in a workout is hard, especially since my apartment gym is always packed early mornings and post work when I can actually go. I found that in the 20 minutes with this DVD, I sweat more than 40 minutes at the gym. I started doing this DVD in January and have since lost over 20lbs. I combine it with going to the gym when I can and healthy eating, it works wonderfully. My endurance is up and I feel fantastic. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a quick but effective workout. My one warning is that this isn't really a good workout for someone with bad knees or shoulders, lots of squatting and pressing with weights.

My boyfriend and I both have been doing this workout and have found that it has really helped our cardio. We have not found that we have dropped the weight, but we have both noticed that we have dropped pant sizes and are noticing more definement in our upper body muscles (muscle weighs more than fat...right?)

I was pleasantly surprised by these workouts. They are short, about 25 minutes, but really make the most of the time you have. Jillian's dialoge are encouraging and informative. They offer two different skill levels for many of the exercises and each one moves along quickly so you don't have time to get bored. I really reccomend this to anyone looking for an easy to fit into your day workout.

I found myself wanting to workout because its only 20 min. Jillian works all the areas of your body with this work out. I feel really great after my workout. I started out walking for 20 min before I started the dvd, now I'm up to 40 min walks then use the 30 min Shred.

I am 31 and am 5'4" and 120 pounds. I am not overweight, but I would consider myself to be out of shape in that I haven't worked out since high school gym class. I started this work out hoping to tone up and possibly lose a few pounds. The workouts, all 3 levels, were all difficult for me, but knowing that they would be done in less than half an hour didn't really give me any excuses not do it. After only a couple of weeks, I, along with other people, noticed that I was starting to get arm muscles for the first time ever! It also helped tone my abs, which people noticed in the summer, and shape my butt. I would definitely recommend this for beginners.

I have tried Pilates and aerobics and running and walking. Nothing works the ENTIRE body like this video! I LOVE the routines. I am still working on level 1, but am very energized and excited to workout each day! I expect, based on my sore muscles, great results shortly!

I did the 30 Day Shred for 30 Days. Level 1 for 5 days, Level 2 for 11 days and Level 3 for 14 days. I lost 2.25 inches off my waist (yay). After 1 day of break I'm doing it again for the next 14 days to give me a total of 6 weeks. It absolutely kicks my butt and it's all over in less than 30 minutes...boo bam! I love it.

After recently losing my enthusiasm for the old school Firm workouts that I had done for years and years and years, and after being introduced to Jillian and her training techniques via the Biggest Loser and reading the reviews, I decided to purchase this workout DVD--and I'm glad that I did. This is hands down the most invigorating workout that I have EVER done. I viewed all three levels and did level 2, very conservatively, yesterday. Today, I feel great--refreshed, renewed, and ready to do level 1 this evening. The moves are basic. The compact nature of the workout made the time fly by. For me, every move was performed the right number of times and for the right length of time. As opposed to conquering one level before moving on to another, I plan to do the level that I feel may body can handle on a given day and pace myself so that I get through each workout without feeling wiped out and/or sore afterwards. I look forward to doing these workouts for a long time and I have no doubt that I will get great results.

This is a great workout if you are limited on time. Really enjoyed it. Jillian is my favorite trainer on The Biggest Loser.

This is the best workout DVD I have ever done. The moves are simple yet effective and the time just flies by! You will definitely feel it the next day!

I use this with other DVD's so I can't comment on the 30-day results, but this is a tough workout, and you are able to start at a lower level and move up as able, or start at the higher level and just go back and forth between workouts. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Jillian Michaels.

Great routines from a great trainer. I love the circuit approach, and the way you can advance to a higher degree of difficulty when you're ready. So the setup is awesome, the routines are great and net good results quickly. BUT... I don't think this should be the "first" workout DVD a beginning exerciser purchases. The routines are 20mins long but you are working every second of that 20mins. Having done workout DVDs for 15yrs, and being in fairly decent shape, and health, I can honestly say I was surprised to be VERY challenged the first few times I did it; even doing the "basic" level 1 routine. Experience tells me that it will get easier as time progresses, but I could totally see a beginner or a seriously overweight person finding this DVD too challenging to stick with, and giving up. So, a good workout with the promise of great results is one thing, but a workout that's too challenging in the beginning will actually contribute to failure, not help you work past it. I understand that perserverance is the key to success, but it is VERY easy to be discouraged. Overall good workout DVD, just not for beginners, in my opinion.
